ive owned this car for 3 weeks and have had to put 2 quarts of oil in every week because every morning i start my car lot of blue smoke is coming out my exhaust. this is because the design temperature for the pistons in this engine was 120 degrees celsius and the actual temperatures reached are 160 degrees celsius, which causes the petroleum oil to sludge up and carbon to accumulate in the piston oil holes that allow oil to flow to the piston rings. this blocks those oil holes, preventing oil from getting to the piston rings and subsequently the piston rings wear very, very quickly, then allowing oil to be able to slip past the piston rings, into the combustion chamber and out the exhaust. this will lead to replacing the pistons which is an extremely expensive and labor intensive job just because toyota made a mistake with the way they built the engine. it's a shame that toyota hasn't recalled this vehicle because there are countless amounts of records on these cars having that problem. the car can break down after so much oil has been burned and that could happen un expectedly. it's drivable but not safe.
i received a recall letter from toyota for my airbags. recall id nhat-fzj. i contact them to schedule a repair and they tell me since there's another recall for my vehicle they can't help me further. seems crappy that something they should also fix somehow hinders toyota's ability to fix the airbag.
my 2003 toyota corolla le which was purchased in 2003 had a acceleration problem, i took it to the oakbrook toyota while it was still under warranty and was told that it was all in my head and moreover the electronics for this function was factory installed and there was nothing the dealer could do with it. this was the last time i went to this dealer.the car would accelerate from 500 rpm to 2000 rpm in idle this would lurch the car forward and the only way i could drive this car was to change the ceramics brake pads every 10000 miles. in 2007 the car lurched forward at a traffic light and broke the rear bumper of a hyundai santas fe and cracked my bumper too i tried to explain to the police officer that i was stopped and suddenly the car lurched forward, it did not help i was given a ticket and told to tell my story to the judge, luckily the lady i hit did not show up in court and i was discharged but that did not make my insurance company all state from raising my premium and i still have the car and still has the highest premium. the car is used for running errands locally. *tr
Been waiting for dealers to fix the recalls my car has, they say they will call when they receive parts. Still waiting.
The contact owns a 2013 Toyota Corolla equipped with bridgestone turanza el400-02 tires, size: p205/55r16. While driving 65 mph, the vehicle began to drive like one of the tires was flat. Suddenly, the rear passenger tire detached from the vehicle and the tire pressure indicator illuminated. The contact stated that she had to constantly place air in the tires. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic (dracut tire shop, inc. , 1269 lakeview Ave, dracut, MA 01826 (978) 957-0782), but was not diagnosed. All four tires were replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that no recall was associated with the VIN. The dot number was unavailable. The approximate tire and vehicle failure mileage was 14,000.
We bought two new cars and these tires were standard equipment on both of them. We had two blowouts in less than two months. Both set of tires covered 3500/2117 miles respectively. Tires valves were checked one set of tires is losing pressure constantly. My next step is to file complaint with NHTSA to trigger a investigation. My advice is if you had issues with these tires is to file a complaint with NHTSA to prevent any body from getting injured.
-on Dec 20 2019 I took my car to Toyota dealership here in vicksburg ,ms because check engine and track off light was on . They put it on the diagnostic machine to tell whats going on well they came back and said the mass airflow censor and switch valve john robert ward stated that once they replace the parts that my car will be fixed so got yhe part put on ondec 25,2019 they said I wouldnt have anymore problems,well lights came back on and cutting off again on Monday Dec 30-2019 they reprogrammed light said I wouldnt have anymore trouble the the machine didnt pick up a code this time said if the lights come back on bring it back, ended up taking it back Wednesday 1,2020 they ended up keepin it and putting me in another vehicle well January 2,2020 they told me to come get it that it wasnt picking up a code on Friday January 3,2020 took it backto them because it is still cuttin off and track off light and check engine light going off and on well at this time I took it back they put it back on the machine only to tell me know that they think the fuel pump is going out so im trying to figure why the fuel pump didnt show up the first time it was diagnoised ,so spent money and my car still not working right. My vehicle stalled out on me while I was driving and was almost hit as a result. After many attempts to find the cause, the final answer was the fuel pump, $2900 later. I just heard about the recall and to my surprise my vehicle was not listed for the fuel pump recall. Toyota service replaced the fuel pump but I'm not sure they did it correctly because I am still having the same issues. I've owned 4 Corollas but this one I've had to put the most money in because of issues I've never had to deal with prior.
I was on a highway exit ramp (exit 5 off northbound I-395) when my airbags deployed (driver and both sides). My car veered off the asphalt and then quickly I got control and continued out of traffic on a residential side road just off route 7 westbound. My car then abruptly stoped. I managed to restart it a couple of times and run it just enough to get it off the road . I have attached photos. There does not appear to be any resulting damage to the body of the car. There were no outstanding recalls on the vehicle. I have reported the incident to my insurance (geico).
Front windshield distortes the drivers vision. Windshield appears to have a wave or wavy effect to drivers vision while moving on highway or city streets or stationary or turning.
