my 2003 toyota corolla le which was purchased in 2003 had a acceleration problem, i took it to the oakbrook toyota while it was still under warranty and was told that it was all in my head and moreover the electronics for this function was factory installed and there was nothing the dealer could do with it. this was the last time i went to this dealer.the car would accelerate from 500 rpm to 2000 rpm in idle this would lurch the car forward and the only way i could drive this car was to change the ceramics brake pads every 10000 miles. in 2007 the car lurched forward at a traffic light and broke the rear bumper of a hyundai santas fe and cracked my bumper too i tried to explain to the police officer that i was stopped and suddenly the car lurched forward, it did not help i was given a ticket and told to tell my story to the judge, luckily the lady i hit did not show up in court and i was discharged but that did not make my insurance company all state from raising my premium and i still have the car and still has the highest premium. the car is used for running errands locally. *tr
Car accelerates hard from stationary idle. Happening for several weeks. Yesterday accelerated from idle at a 4 way stop intersection almost caused an accident. Very scary. Not comfortable using it until problem remedied.
When using cruise control, all warning lights come on while driving - check engine, parking, abs, everything. It stays like this for about a week and then stops until the next time you use cruise control. I have taken to the dealer and they acted like it wasn’t a problem and turned off the lights but it still keeps happening.
Paint peeling on the roof.
The contact owns a 2022 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while driving at 10 mph, he depressed his brake pedal as he approached a red light; however, the vehicle failed to stop and enter abs mode. Due to the failure, the vehicle skid as he both hit the vehicle in front of him and the vehicle to the right of him. The airbags did not deploy upon impact and the forward collision avoidance feature failed to operate as needed. The contact hit his head on the steering wheel and later sought treatment by a chiropractor for pain to his lower back and neck. Another driver involved in the accident was injured; however, the whereabouts of their injuries were unknown. A police report was filed (#25495091). The contact was able to drive the vehicle away from the scene. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 8,800.

Driving to work going 55 mph about 10 minutes into my trip I smelled a burning smell and I soon didn't have any headlight or daytime running light. Took to repair shop, they replace drl module but as soon as it was connected, that new module burnt also,so I can only drive my car during daytime,I have no headlight at all,I only have signal lights and brake light. Could this be a manufacturing defect.
Ignition switch would not turn. Dealer contacted. Feel free to provide any further information.

car stalled on highway at ~55 mph, and successfully restarted once. stalled out again on highway later that day and needed tow to dealership. dealership noted engine stalling below 1000 rpm, and could not communicate with computer (ecm). dealership replaced ecm (89661-02k21) for free under warranty, and toyota corp. reimbursed for towing. *tr
