Been waiting for dealers to fix the recalls my car has, they say they will call when they receive parts. Still waiting.
Whenever I am driving between 15-25 mph, the vehicle feels like it's dragging with cruise control on. The rpm would randomly surge then drop as the vehicle goes over 25 or under 15mph. Which feels like the transmission programming to switch between gears is having trouble to do so at the correct rpm for a smooth gear change!.
The contact owns a 2011 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while driving at 20 mph, the accelerator pedal was released, and the vehicle made an abnormal sound. The check engine and traction control warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the vehicle hesitated to accelerate while driving. The vehicle was taken to autozone, where it was diagnosed that the transmission valve body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.
My transmission on my 2011 Toyota Corolla has been experiencing so troubles . When being put into gear to drive it acts as if it's in neutral and put on reverse the same thing . At first it was driving fine and then a week later when you put it on driver I notice my rpms when getting ramped up but my it was slowly going up to 20 miles pre hour and you can fill it slipping. Now my car is undriveable.
Immediately after purchase we noticed a transmittion problem where there was a fluxuation of rpm while driving at 40 - 65 mph. The computer is telling the transmittion to shift for some unknown reason. It can not find a cruse gear to remain at speed.
When the car is first started in is reved up at 2000rpm. When driving 40mph & up or from third to fourth gear the rpms reve up to 3000rpm before shifting. Car also feels like hard shifting from first to second, lags when taking a turn and pressing gas at same time. Check engine light has now came on p0741. Feels like pushing the max when trying to get fast speeds. Also feels like when slowing down that the transmission is still in high gear and rmps are high. When stopped and foot on the brake the transmission still feels like it's trying to go forward. As driving on highway at 70 mph the transmission surges loses power at high speeds. I have been told the the torque converter solenoid is not operating correctly on the transmission which is causing these issues. This is also the same issue we have with our 2005 Toyota Corolla, same code same problems. This is a defective that seems to be the issue in Corolla automatic transmission.
The contact owned a 2007 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made an abnormal sound when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact stated that she came to a complete stop at a traffic light, and when she lifted her foot off the brake pedal, the vehicle sporadically accelerated. The vehicle crashed into another vehicle. The airbags deployed. The contact did not sustain injuries. The vehicle was deemed totaled by the insurance company. A police report was not filled. The vehicle was towed to a collision center. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.
About a week ago, driver seat could not return to upright position after adjusting angle. Then we noticed large piece of seat back frame was protruding on the left-hand side. Upon removal of covering and cushion to uncover the back frame, we discovered that, of the two solid-steel arms attaching the back frame to the bottom part of the bucket seat (the adjuster mechanism), the arm on the left-hand side has been split into two separate pieces, along a horizontal break in the steel itself. In short, the left half of the seat back frame is not attached anymore. Initially we suspected vandalism, but the break is definitely not a saw cut (even if were possible); and we also discovered that the steel arm on the right-hand side has a half-inch long crack in almost exactly the same spot, and also horizontal. This led us to conclude that the break on the left arm was due to a developing crack in the steel, and the right arm is clearly headed towards an identical fracture -- which would completely separate the seat back frame from the bucket seat altogether! the two steel arms are clearly made of sub-standard material. Without considering the significant cost of replacing the bucket seat, this is clearly a serious safety hazard, since at any moment the seat back could collapse completely due to sub-standard steel parts tearing apart. It is fortunate this was discovered while the vehicle was not in motion. This is definitely a safety recall issue. We have several photos of these defects, including close-ups, ready to send you upon request.
car accelerated when breaking to a stop and while stopped. the event happened 4 times in one day and 1 time recently. the dealer could not find a problem with it and had never heard of such a problem.
i brought a 1999 toyota corola in 2000, in 2001 32,000 miles later the transmision failed, toyota replaced the transmision with a brand new one. this month may 2003 41,000 miles later the transmision failed again same problem. according to toyota i'm no longer under warrenty and i have to pay 4,396.71 for the repair cost. what i don't understand is, if the transmision keep failing every 30,000 to 40,000 miles obviously something is wrong with the car.
