It started spitting out plugs at 62k. A week later another plug. Then I just had to buy a rebuilt transmission for $5500. Ran the truck a week and back to shooting out spark plugs. Each time I lose time from work, its my company truck. Now I have taken to renting a Uhaul each time. The truck just turned 81000 miles, what a crap truck. I was a Ford truck guy and have had everything from a 1964 F111 to a 1980 Ranger, to a 95 Ranger and a 2000 Ranger, a 1998 F150, then a 2004 F250. Tried a F350 diesel dully, 6.0 junk, nothing but problems. Went upside down with this 2016 3350 super duty 15 ft box truck. As soon as this latest plug issue is fixed I am trading it in for a Chevy. F*ck Ford.
I test drove the vehicle but I didn't take in on the highway. There is a loud drone at 1500 RPM, two day's later we noticed the problem. I called Gowanda Ford In Gowanda NY. To make a long story short they took the drive shaft and tires off the 2010 I traded in, that didn't work, they rebuilt the rear end, that didn't work. The Ford service tech trouble shooter, Rob Green, had it for a whole day, they said they realigned the engine and exhaust, that didn't work. The last time they had it they put a dampening device on the exhaust from a 97 Mercury, that didn't work. After that they said there was nothing else they could do.So I put a new muffler on, sound proofed the sides and doors and put very large house clamps around the heat shield to quite the vibration. nothing worked. They said they wouldn't give me my money back but if I wanted to buy a new vehicle they said they would take it in trade. So I called there sister store Emerling Ford in Springville NY, same story, nothing they could do.
Took to 3 mechanics 2 Ford dealers and left it for a total of 5 months with no fix.
I am writing this letter to express my extreme displeasure with two Ford dealerships, BJ Ford in Liberty, TX and Friendly Ford in Crosby, TX. During June - August 2019 time frame, I took my Ford F-350 to their "Service Departments" to have them fix what is referred to as the "Death Wobble, where the front end of the vehicle would sometimes shakes violently" while driving at speeds around 65 MPH or above while simultaneously passing over uneven pavement or small bumps on the road surface. In their attempts at solving this problem, their remedies ranged from, adjusting (lowering) the air pressure in the front tires, to charging me $3,758.95 in labor and repair parts on Aug 5, 2019 that did not fix the problem. After the expensive repairs were made to this vehicle, I experienced the last Death Wobble while driving with my grandson in this vehicle on Aug 9, 2019. Fed up with the danger this problem presented and coupled with their incompetence, I took it back to Friendly Ford service department and explained to them that it was the worst of the numerous Death Wobble incidents to date. On Aug 13, 2019, the service representative told me it would cost an additional $1,000.00 to fix the problem. Now I was left thinking, "didn't I just pay thousands of dollars to fix the Death Wobble problem and now I am being told they can fix it for another $1,000.00?". After complaining to them about another $1,000.00 to fix the problem, the service representative said he had spoken with the service manager and they offered to fix it for only the cost of the repair parts which was about $400.00.The failure to solve this problem by these two dealerships has left me with mental anguish and possible post-traumatic stress disorder and afraid to drive this vehicle any further. If this problem is not repaired correctly it could have cause serious injury or death to the occupants riding in this vehicle and or others nearby. Having lost confidence in their ability to fix the problem and the running expense it was costing me, I told him that I would trade it in for a new vehicle. On Aug 14, 2019, I traded my 2014 F-350 for a new F-150 at Friendly Ford. I grew up in a loyal Ford family as a child. Until the problem I encountered with this F-350, I have own and brought many Ford vehicles for my spouse, children, grandchildren and myself since 1970, without having any major problems.Since this problem may reoccur when the next owner of this vehicle drives it, I have filed a report with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reporting my experiences with this vehicle just in case someone is injured because repairs weren't properly made by Ford. In addition, I asked Ford Motor to refund my money that I paid for this Death Wobble repairs. After my complaint to Ford Motors, they said that they could only refund me about 1/3 of the cost since I no longer own this vehicle. On Oct 21, 2019, I received a check in the amount of $1,303.00 from the Friendly Ford Dealership of Crosby, TX.
Ford Motor Company has an on going issue with rims cracking / failing. I myself have replace all 4 of the 16' stock steel rims one by one. Purchase this vehicle with 8,000 miles October of 2014 and as of today December 2017 have 141,000 miles on the odometer. First could not keep hub caps on this vehicle and finally gave up purchasing hub caps and just removed them all. Then one by one the rims began to crack/fail and tires go flat. Now I carry a spare for the spare because it keeps happening. Walk outside going to start my day and surprise the truck has a flat tire caused by the rim cracking/failure. Thank Ford Motor Company for installing a tire pressure sensor system on this vehicle ,otherwise I would be flying down the highway and possibly loose control and die because of tire failure caused by rims cracking/failing due to loss of air pressure. I have spoke to the Ford dealership in McAllen,Tx about this issue and was just go shoulders shrugged at me. So so far I have purchased 4 new 16' stock steel rims one by one.Best regards Concerned Ford E-350 Owner
Had to live with no rear AC for a year. There was constant heat on passengers. I had to fix it myself because it would cost hundreds of $$$'s to have Ford fix it. Three hours of work to fix a $15 part.
Unbelievable... how do you blow a spark plug out of an engine block??? It is only 5 years old!!!
Two year old van loses it's transmission... bull crap... I've got 4 more complaints that I am going to input... including the latest, loosing the engine at 6 years old!!!
After a short uneventful drive, I opened the driver side door in a normal fashion. The door completely fell apart in one loud bang. After further observation, it was obvious that the pressed seam between the inner and outer pieces of sheet metal that make up the door had failed. Now the outer panel binds into the front quarter panel. That was the bang I heard when I opened the door; destroying the door and the quarter panel in the process. There are no welds there to prevent the two halves of the door from separating. I've never seen or heard of anything like this before. After several futile attempts to bang it back together, I gave up and bent the door and the quarter panel in a manner in which I can open and close the door. I have to slam the door really hard to close it, as it is hanging a little low. Without the integral strength of the two pieces of steel working together the door sags apart. I don't know how long it will last in this state. I still can't believe how flimsy this vehicle is. The door and the quarter panel can be bent with your bare hands quite easily! I bought this van brand new and it's just passed warranty. Now it looks like it was in a collision!
side passenger door has no locking hinge on one of the two side doors. I have 6 kids trying to exit and enter these doors and the one door keeps hitting them. Park on a hill and the door hits you and on windy days the door is flapping in the wind bouncing off my kids. crushing their legs, feet and fingers. The dealership says this is on all their vans. I say that's a bunch of bullshit!
