There is a recall that was preformed on my vehicle before I bought it for brake light issues NHTSA campaign number: 14v252000. The issue has come back I just bought the car. I called the dealer and they said it had been fixed in 2014 but it has started doing the same thing and they said that they can fix it but I will have to pay. I have tried to call the corporate gm office but keep getting sent back to the dealer near me.
Since 2018 my brake lights will come on without touching the brakes. When this happens, my cruise control won't work. I can tap the brakes and they'll go off for about 3-5 seconds and then come back on. After awhile, the esc and traction control lights will pop up on my dashboard. I've had the sensor replaced/reset 5-6 times since August of 2018, with the most recent June 2020. It worked fine that day, but the next day they all came back on. Today, it was fine, but later will probably be another story. ,.
When I press on brakes there is a loud grinding noise coming from the back .
I purchased this vehicle in October of 2019 and it's a beautiful car. However, it loses reduction in power is causing me to slow up without warning on the freeway and on the street. I don't know if it's a recall on the 2018 Malibu or what, but this is definitely an issue. It's a wonder that I haven't been involved in an accident. I'am thankful to god for that. I need immediate assistance with getting this issue resolved. Please reach out to me.
Driving on the highway and the car slowed to 20 mph. When I pressed the gas pedal to the floor nothing happened. Stabilitrak, Check engine, ABS lights all came on and off. The engine shut down, the warning light up, and the car stalled. Towed the car to the dealership. 9 codes were reported. One of which was a communication message problem. It has been at the dealership for 3 days and they have not been able to diagnose the problem.
As I was driving on I-94 expressway my car gist reduced power. The dashboard populated a message "reduce engine power" and my Onstar started giving me a message engine problem. At the same time the car reduced the speed from 65 to 30 then 20 and stayed there, it was immediately. I became frighten the car behind me almost ran into my rear end. It was an awful feeling I felt helpless not knowing what to do. I coasted along at 20 miles per hour to the next exit and drove to the dealership where I purchased the car. I was told after a diagnosis replaced pedal and cleared the code. It did seem logical a pedal would impact the engine reduction. Well replacing the pedal did not fix the problem because the next day the same problem I'm driving along and suddenly message reduce engine power. Twice in one week and now I'm looking into the lemon law.
While I'm driving the car loses power, while at a stop sign when I try to accelerate it wont go anywhere.
In March 2019, when I was driving down the bust street when my car slowed down and wouldn't accelerate. They said it was a sensor in the pedal. It was fixed under warranty. Then in July the same thing happened, but this time the car wouldn't even start. Had 36 different codes pull up. Had to be towed.
