We bought a 2021 chevy Traverse and the day after purchase the brakes began making a grinding noise off and on. Three weeks to the day after purchase, may 11, behind the driver side back tire was a puddle of darker fluid. The brakes began grinding worse. I left for work and when I returned home under the carport where the Traverse was parked was fluid where each tire has sat. I drove 15 miles to my next duty spot for the day and brakes were grinding horribly. . When I got to my destination I popped the hood to find the reservoir where the brake fluid goes completely empty. It looked as if it never had fluid in it to begin with. The dealership sent a tow truck to my location and picked the vehicle up.
I have a 2021 chevy Traverse lt. The stereo touch screen keeps completely freezing. We've brought it to the dealer who told us it was working fine. Its frozen twice. Once we had to pull the fuse out to reset it for it to work. Vehicle has a rattle at startup and suspension squeaks. Captain seats almost seem loose, they rattle at times. The brakes are horrible, they squeak all the time. Pads are not worn, but it appears from my mechanical knowledge that the pads are slightly oversized to the rotor or not set on straight and they're rubbing the unmachined part of the rotor which could contribute to the brake issue. Dealers have claimed before its just ceramic rub, however; I have done tons of brake jobs and always use ceramics. Never had a problem with that. Vehicles need a major recall for all these systems as they can all be a major safety concern. Brakes not set on right or pads to big can cause the pads to break off causing loss of braking power and an accident. Seats not tightened properly can cause death or serious injury to passengers in an accident. Failing suspension can cause loss of control of the vehicle and an accident, freezing touch screen can cause an accident if the driver is using the nav system and it stops.
From day one the brakes respond erratically. The braking is uneven regardless or road conditions. The dealer identified a problem but canโt repair it until they receive a solution from the manufacturer.
The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Traverse. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was an grinding and squealing sound coming from the brakes. The vehicle was taken to tropical Chevrolet (8880 biscayne blvd, miami shores, FL 33138) where they informed the contact that the brake parts were new and that after continual driving, the sound would go away. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 1,247.
Right front break pad makes a real bad noise, sounds like metal on metal. Took it to dealer I bought it from and they said it was a noise from ceramic pad and chevy will not fix it. I paid approx 34000 to be told they wont fix it. It sounds like a piece of junk when you hit the breaks. I have bought many new chevys in my life time. This will be my last. They said it wont hurt anything. I have never bought anything but big three but will buy Toyota from now on. They back their cars. I know nothing will be done about this problem but I will tell everyone I see.
Brake failure on a 2 day old chevy Traverse sequence of events . . . 1. I purchased a Chevrolet Traverse from lawrence Chevrolet on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 and took delivery at about 5:00pm. 2. While my wife was driving on Thursday, January 16, 2020, we experienced a low speed brake failure. This occurred while on the way to dulles airport at about 6:00pm. The brakes were slowly applied and they did not respond. The brakes were then pressed hard and they did not respond. I (mike) reached over to try shifting the car into park but was unsuccessful and the car drifted at a very low speed, ๏ฟฝa walking speed,๏ฟฝ and into the back of a tractor trailer. We had very ample space to stop however the brakes simply did not respond. Minimal damage occurred to the vehicle's front. I immediately checked to see if something was in the way of the brakes pedal (a floor mat or other obstruction) and there was no obstruction. I could see, and I am certain, that heather had her foot on the brake pedal. 3. Glenda (onstar/gm) established case number 9-5760767809 and set up a tow to ourisman Chevrolet of rockville, MD. 4. I was greeted by roberto (service manager?) and helped by both roberto and allen krum (assistant service manager). They also took down a description of the incident and they gave me a rental car. Of note, they said that someone outside of the dealership (a gm rep?) would be coming to look over the car.
All 4 doors do not lock or unlock, keyfob only works to open liftgate.
The surround vision system not working. It was occasionally, now it does not work at all. We only get a dark screen with a red hazard triangle. It started the day we bought the car and the dealer claims they have another car like mine ahead of me with the same problem. Since the last week of December they have claimed that gm does not have a fix for this issue. I made a complaint with my Chevrolet customer service case # 9-6485705057, but I don't get any answers from them either. I am not sure if this system is tied into the adaptive braking/cruse, but I have yet to have the vehicle take action in that regard. In checking that out. I got way closer than I felt comfortable with, I keep waiting for the car to react to the closing distance but it never did. I backed it off myself. I was well within two car lengths of the vehicle ahead (55 mph) and closing in at about 3 or 4 mph. If you have to be closer than that for it to activate then I will not be using it. I have been dealing with this dealership for several years, and have purchased 3 automobiles from them. They have performed the regular service and warranty work on all of them with no problems at all. For them to have an issue fixing it is not typical of the service I have received from them in the past. So, when they tell me gm does not know how to fix the issue. I have to believe them up to a point. With the small windows in the back of this vehicle. Visibility is extremely limited, and it is a safety issue. If they can't keep the basic surround vision system working. How are they going to maintain autonomous vehicles to a level that protects all involved?.
Rear camera stopped working aide senors stopped working. After several months of trying to fix this they finally might have this on the recall list for some cable kit, which they did not totally put on mine becuase due to covid they are backed up on manufacturing, I do not rely on back up camera but it is nice to double check. Have had it in 4 different time to be fixed also raide continue to have problems. Been replaced 3 times.
