I was driving down the road like I always do, the cruise control just shut off. I tried to re-engage it and it would not respond, about 15 minutes later I engaged the cruise control successfully. This has happened numerous times over the last three weeks and now in order to engage the cruise control, I lift with my fingertips, the top left and the bottom left of the button and then it will engage. One occasion, the dash lights in trip 1 mode flashed. Then the control began working again.
While on open freeway with adaptive cruise set at 70mph passed a semi truck the brakes were applied violently. This occured 3 separate times.
Brakes began to pulse when pressure applied to pedal. Complete loss of brake crashed in parking lot wall. Was knocked unconscious. The brake system has been professionally serviced. Cant find any reason for loss of brakes. This vehicle has been parked since incident. Because it will keep.
currently own a 2004 ford f150 fx4. the driver side window suddenly fell off the track while driving and into the door, thankfully it didn't shatter. took it to the dealership, wasn't covered under warranty. it was the window regulator. cost around $500 to fix it. a year later the driver side window fell of track when shutting the door and fell down into it. don't really have the money to fix it, so we rigged it to stay up, however it falls slowly while driving and we have to keep pushing it up. now the rear passenger window has fallen down- where our child sits and this is becoming a problem. $1500 to fix 3 windows in 2 years is not acceptable on something that is clearly a defect. ford claims they are waiting for the nhtsa to require the recall from ford, until that happens they wont correct the problem. this is a safety issue as well as a consumer issue. please continue to advise ford of this defect and urge the recall. *tr
take a look a my vehicle history, i baby my truck - never used off-road. i have replaced several items that i feel should have been fixed by ford. i had to buy a warranty that cover most of the stuff. some parts with defects that were replaced. most replaced at 40,000-80,000 miles 1.) transmission completely replaced 2.) rearend replaced 3.) i'm on my third set of all 4 ball joints 4.) tie rods, tie rod ends (replaced twice now) 5.) coil 6.) headlight housing (3-4 times) 7.) brakes, numerous things worked on and replaced dealership was never able to stop the thumping noise that is still there, said it was normal (not) 8.) idler arm (replaced twice) 9.) sunroof switch replaced twice, reported loud bang when opening. a&b kia said it was normal - no, now it is completely broke and will barely open and have to force closed. 10.) sideview mirrors vibrated 11.) abs sensor replaced 12.) keyless entry replaced 13.) steering bearings replaced 14.) back bumper is rusting these are just some of the things i can remember right off hand. i've got all receipts. i take care of this truck - wash and wax once a week by hand (unless really bad weather) then i just take it to the car wash automatic or actual people washing. keep inside just as nice. if you want to check out a vehicle for safety/recall information you should start with mine. *ak
after owning the new vehicle from 2001 until 2003, the vehicle ran perfect. however, after that time i noticed a serious problem with the vehicle "loping" while sitting idle at stop lights/stop signs with it in drive with the headlights and ac on. even though i turn the lights and ac off and try it, the problem still occurs. i have taken it in to a ford dealerships, they charged me over $100 for replacing a sensor, which did not correct the problem. i took it back and they stated they could not find the problem unless they could hook up the test equipment and observe the readings while driving down the road. finding this answer unacceptable, i took it to another dealership that basically told me the same thing. to this day, it's still loping at intersections. now, i have to put it in neutral when i arrive at an stop light to stop the "loping." it's pretty sad when the mechanics at ford aren't able to fix the problem, or the corporate office blows you off and "sticks by their dealerships" instead of assisting their customers (now ex-customers). *tr
