No, I have never received a recall notice on this car melting dash -never. This issue is all over the internet with other Toyota and Lexus owners having this very same issue. This car was built in georgetown ky and was purchased brand new at Lexus of louisville, ky. “I have never purchased another Lexus after this. ” thank you, original and only 1 owner of this Lexus Es-350.
I was in stop and go traffic. Bumper to bumper. The car in front moved forward and I pressed the gas pedal 2 seconds and went back to the brake. The engine started to rev up out of control. I pressed on the brake as hard as possible and managed to slow the car but not stop it. I put it in park but the engine continued to roar. It finally went back to normal. Lexus checked the car but said they found nothing wrong. This model had been recalled for the same problem. Clearly the car may be dangerous. Lexus denies all responsibility. The inspector left a thumb drive in the car but I can't read it. I would be glad to send it to you.
Concern about very bright white head lamps on some newer autos. They tend to blind on coming drivers because of their brightness. According to dr isadore rosenfeld they can trigger migraine headaches. This is a road hazard and can lead to an accident.
Vvti oil line ruptured this was part of a limited service campaign by Lexus and I believe my vehicle's VIN was incorrectly excluded.

I own a 2002 Lexus Es300 and am the original owner. I have enjoyed the experience of driving the car to around 175k miles in nearly 12 years. So far, I did not have any major problems with the car until recently. Last Friday, Aug 8, 2014, my wife drove the car to a friend’s place and was parked in a parallel parking area. There were 3 cars in that parking area including my car in 5 car parking area. The two parking spots behind my car were vacant. My wife was trying to back up to a spot right in front of another car which was parked there. While trying to backup, there was a sudden acceleration of the engine and hit the car right behind and that car went and hit another car that was behind that car. The impact was so much that there was significant damage to my car and another car that was right behind and minor damage to the third car. Not only the damage to one car right behind but displaced its position and direction that it was parked. The third car was pushed over to the curb and was about to hit the pedestrians that were nearby. There were eye witnesses and police were called to the accident scene and reported the incident. After the incident occurred, I was looking to see if there were any issues with sudden acceleration of the cars and any safety recalls. I did notice that there were quite a few complaints about the sudden acceleration and safety issues on 2002 Lexus Es300. I am kind of disappointed in the way the car malfunctioned and I want to know what NHTSA is doing about it and how it can help victims like me. Thanks and appreciate your response.
I was coming up my street like I do every day and all of a sudden it started accelerating and I was stuck staring wheel locked up and I hit a tree and got severely injured the car is totaled.

The entire dashboard is melting and has a gooey, sticky substance all over the dashboard. The sticky substance is all over my windshield and cannot come off due to the location of the gooey substance. It is causing a glare. I have taken the car to the Lexus dealership in jacksonville, FL and they acknowledge that it needs to be replaced (we have pictures). We have also directly contacted Lexus and they state they will not cover replacement because our VIN number is outside of the VIN numbers their engineers selected, nor did they offer other options to assist with replacement of the dashboard.
My vehicle accelerates periodically resulting in close-call accidents. There is no warning sign of when this is going to happen. I reported this to the dealership (heyward allen Toyota) where I brought the used vehicle in 2008. One of the salesmen drove with me around the dealership and decided there was nothing wrong with the car. I learned 24-hours after the purchase that this vehicle was in an accident prior to me purchasing it which was not revealed. I am concerned that I am putting my life as well as others in danger.
