Just bought car today. Had new tires installed and they told me they put the car in park but ir started rolling. Had to restart in neutral and put in park again. When I left went to auto parts store and parked and turned vehicle off. As I was getting out realized car was rolling. I put foot on brake and car restarted without putting in neutral. Shifted to drive and back to park and it stopped this time.

1. The vehicle hesitates with initial acceleration (slow or quick acceleration). 2. The automatic transmission also hesitates. I suspect that ounce the acceleration problem is fixed that the transmission problem would be fixed. 3. I have gone to the Lexus dealer to update the computer with a new chip to help resolve the problems with no success. 4. I have discovered on the internet that hundreds of Lexus owners have the same complaint. In some cases the dealers have the audacity to suggest thats the way the car was designed! why isn't Lexus listening to all the complaints? thanks.

complaint relating to lexus es 330. transmission and accelleration have been unsatisfactory since purchase. car is momentarily unresponsive to accellerator when gas applied. dealer said they found nothing wrong. i have noted that there are numerous complaints by other owners with this same problem. shifting between 1 and 2 and 2 and 3 is hesitant and there is a longer hesitation than i have noted with other cars. this car model cannot be relied upon to accellerate on demand. i believe that this represents a safely risk in the event that accident avoidance should require predictalbe accellerator responce. this is a continuous and on going problem.*ak

there's a "lag" in the shifting of gears due to something wrong with the transmission in my 2004 lexus es330. i purchased the car new from a major lexus dealership at roseville auto mall, roseville, ca. although i noticed from the start, a "slippage" or "lag" during the automatic shifting of gears, and brought this to the attention of the lexus dealership, they brushed it off as "normal". my lexus now has 23,000 miles on its odometer and this "lag" is driving me nuts! driving in europe requires rapid responses and advanced speeds, especially when driving on the autobauns. this "gear shift hesitation" is extremely dangerous and often finds me in a semi-dangerous situation. my driving skill and habits have accommodated this transmission idiosyncrasy but whenever another driver drives my car they immediately recognize the problem and i have so often been advised to place a complaint with the lexus manufacturer, i have yet to do so because i suspect it will fall on deaf ears. do i have any recourse? my lexus has few miles on it and is still well within it's warranty. i have recently read that the 2004 lexus es330 is wrought with transmission problems. has lexus served a recall on my model? please advise. i will appreciate whatever assistance and guidance you may suggest. thank you very much. i am a us citizen, and retired federal service worker. my wife currently works for us army corps of engineers here in wiesbaden, germany. wiesbaden recently opened a new and large lexus dealership. do you think this dealership might know what i'm talking about if i discuss the transmission with them? do you know of any "fix" lexus is providing for this problem? thank you again. my phone number is to lengthy to fit into the space provided by this website. appreciatively, leroy clemans halb . dr and as finhesitation" i nrlag in the. *tr

very bad hesitation when accelerating. took delivery 4/27/04 and found the problem immediately. complained at 1000 mile checkup. told to give it time. complained again at 5000 checkup. they said they checked it out and it was operating as designed. problem continued. complained at 15000 checkup (9/28/05). performed at this checkup per invoice: eg5017 26 99 .9 perform tsb tc004-03. recalibrate ecm engine and transmission. the problem is better but still exists. have noticed via internet research that this is a widespread problem with the lexus es. spoke today (11/28/05) with a service representative at my dealership and he acknowledges that this is a big problem they are dealing with and there appears to be no one good fix for it. *jb

i purchased the 2005 lexus es 330 in august of 2005. since the time of purchase i have experience a noticeable hesitation and lurching of the transmission when accelerating from slow speeds. the hesitation and subsequent lurching is very noticeable when accelerating from 24 mph. since the purchase i have researched the problem through the internet and learned that there are literally thousands of complaints about the transmission in this model going back to 2002. several web forums, such as edmonds.com and lexus owners club show over two thousand postings on the problem. even the nhtsa has complaints. lexus refuses to acknowledge the problem. i have sent numerous e-mails and letters to both lexus and my local dealership. they have feigned surprise at the problem, and then have told me that there is no problem to be found. they have recommended premium fuel, rebooting the transmission computer and waiting for the transmission to "self adjust". nothing has helped. lexus will not, or cannot, fix this problem. the hesitation and lurching is noticeable when entering a highway or doing a "rolling stop". it is hazardous. lexus has known about the problem since it first existed in 2002. this is not only an uncomfortable problem in this so-called luxury car, but it is a danger. *nm

my 2005 lexus es330 has transmission hesitation when after slowing to about 5 mph, i accelerate. it takes 1 to 2 seconds for the transmission to downshift and then the car lurches dangerously forward. the dealership installed a softward fix to the transmission, but this did not solve the problem. *nm

2004 lexus 330 since the auto was purchased and driven off the lot, there has been a noticeable delay from stop or slow speed acceleration from the time the pedal is depressed until the engine actually starts to deliver the power. if you stomp the pedal for a jack-rabbit start, the delay is not as noticeable. the dealer j and m, has been giving me the run-around since purchase with the "normal" party line. *tr

when my vehicle is immediately put in drive gear from reverse gear, foot taken off the brake and tap the gas pedal, my vehicle surges forward as if it is in full throttle. as result, my vehicle jumped the curb and impacted a brick wall. i suffered a bloody nose and a cut on my hand. the vehicle suffered frontal damage and is undriveable. i have contacted the auto manufacturer. they will tow and inspect it. *jb
