windshield breaks very oftenI have purchased Audi Q3 Prestige package about 2 months ago. I was driving on a different highway about 60-70 mph in the night and I suddenly heard noise which was like water bottle popping because of vacuum. When I saw the windshield next day, I saw a crack on my windshield on the passenger side. Initially I thought, something might've hit the windshield. I changed the windshield glass at the Audi dealer with original Audi glass as my car is new.It was not even two weeks, My wife and I was driving on a highway about 70 mph, the windshield cracked again with the same noise. Since this happened during day time, we were very sure that nothing was hit and it got cracked by itself. We immediately called the Audi customer care and we were told to work with the dealer. I dropped my car at the dealer and asked them to check if there is any problem with the car or the glass. The called me back and told that the crack looked like something hit and since this was the second time happening again, they would bear the deductibles for the change the glass. But, they didn't agree there is a problem with the car.
I have the Audi Q3 and I have only had it for 2 years. At first it was doing well, then it started giving me the warning that I needed oil in the car prior to the oil change date than it started saying it once a month than every 2 weeks than now this week. It started needing oil every 200-300 miles it is out of hand. And prior Audi was already sued because they had an oil consumption issue lawsuit and it continues. Now the estimated repair is going to run be around 7000-9000k in work. Stay away from Audi models 2011-2017 with the q3.
I purchased the vehicle in May 2018 In 10/2018, and while still under warranty it left me stranded. It started to shake as I was driving, due to a broken spring valve. Audi took the engine apart and repair the problem. All was well until 1/18/21, when I was on the freeway and the vehicle started to shake. Turns out the timing chain jumped. Towed it to the Audi dealing where they would charge me $12,000 for a new engine. I called American Audi hoping and praying they could pay a portion and after a week waiting they responded with a NO.I had the vehicle towed to a mechanic who replaced the engine for 9k. I didn't have the title to salvage it, not sure what else I could have done. NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY AN AUDI!!!
I have an Audi Q3 purchased on 12th February 2016 which is giving a repeated problem with the tyre pressure monitor system. This problem had all started when i was first given the opportunity to update the software for the TPMS specifically. The explanation which was given to me by the workshop supervisor is that the TPMS will not detect the air pressure loss unless it deflates by 1 bar which is supposed to be 14.5 psi. Now I inflate the tyres at 33 psi and according to their logic the TPMS will not give me any indication before it deflates to 18.5 psi. Do you expect that the tyre will withstand the low pressure for long if it is underinflated on a long drive on highways as i usually travel on highways or for that matter anywhere? Then what is the use of the TPMS if i have to check it everytime i start driving. It's absolutely illogical and ridiculous isn't it? Moreover the front right tyre had to be replaced as the TPMS didn't give me any indication on the highway that the tyre is deflated. When it was shown to the tyre dealer, they said that it had run too long while it was on low air pressure and that the wall of the tyre had burnt rubber which finally lead to the crack of the side wall of the tyre. Logically speaking, if the TPMS had functioned properly then it would have given an indication beforehand that there is some problem with the air pressure. Which it didn't and finally i had to change the tyre which hardly had any wear and tear of the tread. I had visited the workshop again on 29th November 17 for the same problem where the sensor is not working and multiple lights are glowing in the cluster. I was told that the sensor on the front right is changed and the bearing too has been changed for the same wheel. I got the delivery on 1st december and to my utter dismay i experienced the problem of sensors yet again. Which again rules out the problem of bearings and that something else is wrong with my car. Is there any way that the sensitivity of the TPMS can be increased so that it can give an indication if it looses 4 to 5 psi of air. I hope i have been able to put my thoughts into words so that you can understand my situation and give me your best solution available. Awaiting your best cooperation and kind reply soon.
Well after I posted my video. I took my car to Audi of Beverly Hills and as soon as I got there I told Adriel Sanders the (African American) Guy that it said that I have an Antenna Issue. He automatically gives me a rental car and that is $50 holding deposit they pay (supposedly) but I have to pay for accident insurance $26.99 a day. I don't have. So he calls me later on that day Tuesday, March 3, 2015, saying they are waiting for a diagnostics and it will take another day (Wednesday) so the next day he calls me and says he had to call the east coast Headquarters to see what he should do order anew antenna or a new Radio. So he calls me on Friday saying there closed for the weekend. Monday morning I call him at 10:00 am asking him to call them while its early he says I was about to call you and tell you we ordered the Antenna it will be here tomorrow. Tuesday Morning another whole week 8 days to be exact He says they have it, now it has to get painted. I'm like are you serious? He says yes so now it is Wednesday I am writing this and he says it will be ready Thursday at 10:00 am It should be against the law to be so ignorant to customers if we paying to buy a new car. Then I ask do I have to pay for this rental car he says just for one day,..which is now $41 a day after the first 48 hours. Signed an African American Women.Update from Apr 4, 2015: Well I picked up my car on Friday April 3, 2015 and they had to install a new Antenna.
Simply stated we are fed-up with the Q3 Audi we purchased. There was a clutch break-down within 25 days of having bought the vehicle when for repairs an estimate of similar amount was given to us. When we made several complaints to the top management they decided to waive the amount. But exactly after an year we were faced with the clutch failing us again in heavy Mumbai traffic and we got stranded in the middle of the road besides the failed car of globally reputed makers of cars. After facing the said humiliation we paid USD 1425 approx. again to fix the clutch plates. The fear of another failure is lurking in the mind. But does that bother the manufacturer? Audi is selling absolutely under-quality cars in India in the hope that their brand name is enough to subdue any kind of defect and complaints.Their principals only last year admitted to wrongful parameters for emission levels of their cars. We are sure they have many such cats in the bag.In the end we want that the Q3 car we have bought should be taken back and in exchange we be given another car with proven track record.
I purchased my Audi 2020 Q3 in November 2019. Since the purchase, on three separate occasions, the car has failed to accelerate under very specific speed conditions. In each case, the vehicle had slowed either due to a sharp curve while entering a freeway or for a slower vehicle in front of my vehicle while entering the freeway. When time came to accelerate to match the speed of the freeway traffic, adding power was futile. Drifting on to a freeway at 20 miles per hour and decelerating; while freeway traffic is moving at 70 to 80 mph (California) is unnerving at best and certainly, potential deadly. Audi calls the the problem "limp mode". Audi of America, inc. Issued emissions service action 96h5 - engine control module (ecm) software which cleverly dances around the real threat which is the potential for a serious or fatal accident. In March 2021, when 96h5 came available it was installed on my vehicle. The next week I took a road trip of several hundred miles. Unfortunately, the third " engine limp mode" occurrence happened nearly resulting in a major accident while attempting to enter the freeway. Nhtsa needs to recognize the seriousness of this specific problem. The current software fix is not a fix. People will eventually die.
We stopped at an all way stop intersection and the car's stop-start system had turned off the engine. When the engine restarted the engine hesitated, warning lights lit up on the dash, and the car went into its "limp home" mode. We were in the process of making a left hand turn and the car would not accelerate above a very slow speed. Luckily it was on a city street with a 25 mph limit and traffic was light. We were able to make it through the intersection and pull to the side of the road. We turned the car off and waited a few seconds and restarted it. The car worked normally after restarting and the problem has not happened again. I have received a notice for a recall that seems to address the issue (oem 96h5. Recall name: engine control unit (ecu) software) and have scheduled an appointment with my dealer to have it installed ASAP.
After stopping at a sign on a busy road, the engine fully shut down after a second or two of acceleration. A warning came on the dash to pull car over and call dealer. The engine was completely dead, but I was able to coast to side of road. After thinking about the situation for a few minutes, I started up the car again since I was in a precarious location. I drove it another ten miles to my destination without any issues. After reaching my destination, I called Audi roadside assistance. They sent a tow truck (it took just under four hours to arrive). They then towed car to elk grove Audi, which is when I learned that Audi knew of this problem but was not updating the software until problems developed in the cars. I feel that I was very lucky that the stalled engine did not happen on highway or that I did not have any passengers in car. The outcome could have been very bad. After contacting Audi customer service a few days later, they ('maria' on message line) said they would look into the issue and contact me by Friday Feb 12. I never received any further communication from Audi.
Drive system malfunction- 05dec2020 as I was driving on the city street (35mph) the speed stalled(decelerated) at 12mph, I pressed on the accelerator pedal all the way down in order to increase the speed but will not increase. I pulled to the side and stopped and then turned off the vehicle. I waited for about 5mins then restarted the vehicle. Drive system malfunction alarm cleared afterwards; I was able to accelerate to the speed of 35mph. The vehicle returned to normal operation state.
