Vechicle was serviced a couple of times, but in October 2022, dealer gave us a bill for $9700 due to a faulty wire halter. The Toyota people said the car is out of warranty. With rain and snow the sensor start beeping and warning of objects in front of the vehicle when there are nothing. Driving in snow gets the sensors blocked and you cant use the cruise control.
My 2014 Toyota Rav4 had an accident (front end collision) no air bags deploy.
My sister accidentally ran into the back of a box truck on 7/2/2020 and the knee airbag in her Toyota 2014 Rav4 deployed. The airbag or cover caused major gashes in her leg and she is now in the hospital and will need to have skin grafts. There is a police report that is not yet ready. I am attaching pictures of the leg. I have never seen damage like this caused by airbag and wondering if there is some type of issues with knee airbags?.

Takata recall I purchased this car in January 2019 and since that time have received numerous mailed notices from Toyota "safety recall follow-up notice. " I have made at least 8 phone calls to Toyota and been promised repeatedly that I will be contacted for airbag replacement. . . But have not been contacted. Each person with whom I speak faithfully promises that I will be contacted, then nothing. I live in rural alaska on an island without a Toyota dealer. The closest Toyota dealer is in anchorage. Getting my vehicle to anchorage will entail a 12-24 hour ferry ride and a 2-8 hour highway drive.
