Honda Accord 2001 4-dr sab: passenger side rear front engine support completely rusted away due to ac leak. Driver side rear front subframe is completely fine, no rust. Mechanic said car is too dangerous to drive unless I invest in new subframe for over $1,200. My car only has 70,000 miles on it and I'm very disappointed it hasn't been recalled for clearly a defective ac leakage. I have found many forums with the same problem including the article center for auto safety requesting recall of 1. 5 million Honda Accords for rust issue in sub- frame and Honda Accords found with sub-frames rusted out by the nhou. I could have been seriously injured driving this car while I worked as a food delivery driver for grubhub. I deserve compensation, my passenger subframe is completely rusted out and hanging by a thread whereas my driver side subframe is completely fine. That doesn't just happen it should have been recalled.
they are selling me a lemon and fool me around with excuse. the engine light have been on six time during this two year. the first three time the engine light on, i did not have duplicatin code. sum up the six time report, i have two times code 0700 and two times code 1705. i called honda because they authorized this dealer to sell thie car, however, they told me since the dealer do the modification on the car (add the auto starter in the car), they don't responsible on any problem that related to autostarter, even they authorized tham to sell their car. then i talk to the assistant manager, he is very sacratic, he ask me the detail how i use the autostarter, my answer was perfect, seem to be nothing wrong. as well as he told me the last engine light on was a year ago, i told me i have not use the autostarter for a year, because i decided to leave my baby with my mother-in-law, but i use the autostarter recently. then he blame me, perhap it could be as simple as losing the gas cap, or you use pc or cellphone in the car trigger the engine light. then i ask him what is the list of action i cannot do in the car, he told me he has the list, but he cannot find it. i ask the service rep can i have the summary to what you did for the past six time fixing, service rep told me that summary will not reflect the detail of what happen, only the date and your name. here is the list of problems my car has: check engine light on 6th time, dec 2002, code 700 customer statres cd changer is inop, april 2002 balancing 2 tires on dec 2001, miscommuncate check engine light on 5th time, nov 2001, malfunction a/t sensor check engine light on 4th time, sept 2001, code 1705 repaired rear bumper assembly, nov 2001 check engine light on 3rd time, june 2001, code 0700, 1705 auto start doesn't work check engine light on 2nd time, march 2001, code 900 check engine light on 1st time, jan 2001, code 1456
honda had supposedly under a hidden warranty swapped out the automatic transmission in my car. after driving the car about the same amount of time before the transmission failed the first time, identical problem has recurred. i was driving on the freeway when all of a sudden d4 on the dash starts blinking and i could only drive to 3rd gear. when i turn the car off and restart its ok until i drive for a few minutes. randomly the car will rev but the car won't go forward until it jerks violently and catches gear. numerous occasions i was almost rear ended. i took it to the dealer but they are telling me they will not uphold the safety recall for this issue because my mileage was over. technically after the first repair in the same amount mileage the transmission failed but they told me from the purchase of the car i am over the mileage. *tr
left front break fills like it's not breaking properly, makes a noise when breaking at all times slow or fast .i have call honda for this issue and see if more people have complain about this and they said no one else had.i hope no one else has the same problem but if they do so honda can do a recall to fixed the problem
all of a sudden one day the gps navigation system stopped working completely. my car's make/model uses the gps navigation panel to manually change internal functions, access the trip computer, enter addresses, et cetera. without use of the navigation panel, i have severely limited access to most of my car's electronic functions. the navigation gets stuck on the start-up screen (something that looks blue/black with words 'honda'), and never gets to the second warning screen (orange text on black), where one can push 'ok on the touch screen. when the weather is warmer, sometimes i can push this ok button to get into the controls. i usually have 30 seconds until it fails again. the following issues are present: 1) cds; i cannot select a cd to listen to. i can eject/put cds in, but i can only change songs using the controls on my steering wheel. 2) climate control/temperature control: i cannot switch from the a/c to heat. i can only adjust the temperature up/down, recirculate air, or turn on front/rear defrost. for any temperature setting, when i push the 'off' button, i cannot turn the same setting back on with the 'auto' button. if i push the 'auto' button, it recalls some random last temperature settings, usually a very cold a/c setting (which i never programmed or desired). 3) maps; i can't enter any addresses, therefore, the navigation is useless. if it magically works, it turns off shortly after an address is entered. the navi 'lock-up' situation i described here has been present for over a year or so. weather does affect it. my research concludes that many other honda owners had this issue. many were told by honda directly that honda didn't know what the issue is, and to contact alpine, the manufacturer of the gps navi. most customers who did this were told to send their whole cd/dvd reader unit to alpine for repair, which costs several hundred dollars. *tr
driver's car (left front) keyhole won't accept my key, electronically. i went to different auto services and have the same comments that most of the complaints were the same. i checked the internet, youtube.com, many owners of the same make, model & year have the same issues and problems, even the honda chat room help site. i thought this is an isolated problem, but it's not, if there is some ways that your company could do something about this matter/issue concerning the manufacturer's (honda) defect issue, please let us know, we don't want to shoulder to expenses on their behalf. thank you very much for your concern and looking forward to hearing from you the soonest and for the immediate response to repair the problem for the inconvenience that we are experiencing for a long time. i have tried cleaning the inside of the keyhole by air pressured and wd 40, nothing happened. i can insert the key halfway only and then it will stopped. all other keyholes are functioning well, except the driver's keyhole. *tr
i bought this 2012 honda accord in late september 2014. in october, just a few short weeks later, my ac stopped cooling. i took it to a local mechanic and found there was a hole in the ac dryer. how exactly does a 2 year old car already have ac issues? after doing some research, apparently this is a design flaw because rocks can fly up in it and cause the hole. honda will not cover the $800+ expense. completely unacceptable. i owned a nissan for over 5 years and never once had an issue or repair that was more than $200. extremely disappointed in honda and will not purchase another. *tr
