Driving on highway at approximately 65 miles per hour using the adaptive cruise control. Car in front of us took a right hand exit. My 2021 Honda Accord activated the braking system and applied the brakes, so I stepped on the accelerator thinking it would override the braking system. It had no effect. There were cars behind me at the time and luckily nobody was injured. I looked this up on the internet and found that it is a reported issue. That is why I am contacting you. Very concerned about the safety of my family.
I opened the hood to clean leaves collected at the drain. As with my other cars, I thought that the hood would remain in up position. It just suddenly came down with tremendous force. I almost had my hands crushed under the hand. I got lucky but driver's side viper arm broke at the end which I had to get replaced at my expense. I think that Honda should recall and install hood lift supports to prevent serious injury to persons.
I [xxx] am writing this letter about my 2020 Honda Accord. VIN number [xxx]. I leased this car in January of 2019 from tampa Honda. My brother's name is on the lease and his name is [xxx]. He has been leasing cars for me over 5 years, from Honda. On February 10, 2020, I was outside cleaning my car, like I always do for the last 20 years with the car running so I can listen to the music. I was on the passenger side cleaning the inside dash board, and all of a sudden the car rolled backwards. I was in a state of shock and didn't know how to stop it. I was half way in the car, and half way outside with my feet on the ground. The car rolled out in the street and hit the car parked across street. I had to file a claim for the car I hit, plus I went to the hospital because I hurt my leg. I contacted tampa Honda and was told to take this to the service department. They wouldn't help me, so I waited to Monday, and I went to take it to the finance and spoke to [xxx] and showed him the video and showed him a video of the car going in reverse by itself and they said there is nothing they can do for me. I then contacted Honda corporation office and explained to them the situation and they gave me a case number, [xxx], and told me someone would get back to me in 3 days. The lady [xxx] contacted me and told me it was nothing wrong with the car, and she said she is sorry for what happened, but there is nothing they can do. She also told me that it is a good thing I contacted my insurance to fix the other person's car, but there is nothing she can do. I am writing this letter in hopes of getting some kind of help, because the car is not safe and they will not take it back. . Read more...
A recall was on this--previous owner fixed it--now they will not fix it, it should be covered
[235/40r19 96v xl] **I am in canada, not new york, but since you are the foremost authority on recalls, canada usually follows*** tires came with car, brand new, September 2017. In year 2, I noticed a repeated noise coming from the tires and assumed it was the brakes and had them serviced. During my research, I found many articles and complaints from Honda Accord drivers with the similar model and tire set-up as me complaining about this persistent noise from the tires and it was determined that the steel belt inside the tire has loosened or something and is free within the tire, causing this noise. I stumbled upon a NHTSA recall notice on continental tires for this exact reason, however the year of my car is not included within this recall. This is my request, to have the 2017 model year, where Honda mixed between michelin tires and continental tires - and for owners like me to be reimbursed with a new set of tires, free of cost. Per the NHTSA recall, this overheating during the manufacturing process causes the steel belt to become free and could cause a blow out. I would like my car and model of tire and the yom to be included within this recall notice. . Read more...
While driving my fcw lights came and said failure. I took my car to an independent service center and they confirmed that many Hondas with the same year have had this same problem. Told me that he wouldn't even be able to repair because the part needed to fix the light from coming on was unavailable all across the world. So many Hondas have had this same issue and needed to repair this issue that it's unavailable. I had the car less than one year after I bought it used with less than 95,000 miles. I've owned 5 other Honda Accords that would go forever and have 200,000+ miles without any issues. I've already had to place my alternator 5 times and starter as well.
Transmission is fluttering going into 2nd to 3rd gear.
The driver side sun visor doesn't snap back into place after use. I use it to help protect my eyes from the sun while driving, or to hold up the sun screen when parked. Instead of snapping into place after use, it dangles down about 2" in front of my face. I'm over 6' tall and the dangling visor can block by view. Honda had a similar issue with the civic model a few years before and they obviously haven't fixed the poor design.
I was driving on I-75 near ruskin florida when the driver's side window imploded for no known reason. Florida highway patrol responded and could not see any evidence of the vehicle being struck by any foreign object. Glass ended up in several places including behind me (the driver and sole occupant), under the driver's seat, the far rear right seat and floorboard. I have photos. This happened around 6:40 p. M. , July 11, 2016. I have contacted Honda and they refused to do anything about it. . I feel that this is a severe safety issue and should be investigated. I have additional photos.
The contact owns a 2011 Honda Accord. While driving various speeds, the sunv isor mechanism detached and the contact sustained a head injury. Medical attention was not required. The dealer diagnosed that the mechanism that secured the sun visor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that they would cover the part. The approximate failure mileage was 93,000.
