after multiple oil leak repairs vehicle still leaks oil while stationary. when the heat is on the smell of oil comes into the vehicle. i have checked for any recalls for the vehicle but not have arrived.
The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14v447000 (seats) however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Vehicle is on stationary state. (1) the "rear door lift gate would drop slowly", but it is now becoming harmfully worse as being used. I believe this is due to poor quality parts on the lift itself. This is not common to happen in other autos. Repair is inevitable. (2) the passenger front seat is locked up. No forward or backward movement, although it is reclining. It doesn't matter if vehicle is moving or not.
problem with sway bar links, replaced twice. still problem with front end as chewed up tires...replaced struts, steering shaft, brakes front& back. front end and brake problems... cost me over $3500 to this point, plus head& rear seal gaskets... *tr

tl* the contact owns a 2005 chevrolet equinox. while driving 40 mph, the vehicle independently steered to the extreme right. the failure caused the contact to drive through a ditch, across traffic, and through another ditch. the contact had no control of the vehicle, but did not crash the vehicle. the failure occurred twice in one day. the contact also stated that the key became stuck in the ignition. the vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing and the ignition and middle drive shaft carrier bearing were replaced. the manufacturer was not notified of the failure. the approximate failure mileage was 40,000. updated 10/09/14*lj updated 05/18/2015 *js
the center carrier baring in my 2006 chevy equinox is completely rusted and falling apart. the part however is on backorder for 3-6 months wherever i call. i think since the piece is in such great demand it should be recalled. *tr
not sure of exact first date clunking sounds under car took it in and the bearings that hold the drive shaft were broken. mechanic said never saw something like that on a car without any other damage and that when he checked with local dealer was told that it was happening a lot. i reported to chevy also and yet they said there were no problems. *tr
less than 4,000 miles driven after i purchased this vehicle the transmission needed to be replaced as it would not shift out of 2nd gear. the heater core also exploded on the way to the dealership to assess the transmission issues. around 20-25,000 miles after purchase the engine coolant temp gauge stopped reporting temperatures correctly and would redline even if the car was off for over 2 days it would start up way above the normal operating temperature. the fuel guage no longer correctly indicates how much gas is left in the tank and will not move off of empty even after pumping 13 gallons into the tank. vehicle was stationary at a red light when heater core blew out. vehicle was being driven during transmission, temperature, and gas gauge failures.
