a vibration sporadically occurs in the steering wheel when idling mostly but not only. at first i thought it was related to the a/c unit but it happens whether on or off. temperatures are not affected on gages. i believe this was why the vehicle only had 55,000 miles on it when i bought it in 2018. the vibration occurs when moving or stationary when it happens its seems completely random. it has been happening noticeably for about a year now. at least noticeably. probably unrelated but the vehicle has always had something a little off about the engine when i bought it. it seemed a little louder than it should be and not as smooth i thought it should have been. so it might been an issue the whole time but becoming more noticeable. when it happens it usually happens for 30 seconds to a minute but has lasted longer. once it wouldn't go away at all until i turned the car off and restarted it. i took it into a ford dealership about 4 months ago and explained the issue not as well as i am now since more time has passed and thought maybe it was a trottle body valve issue i read about and they said no there is no issue with that. reading forums it sounds like it might be related to the power steering control. it is causing the steering wheel to vibrate so maybe it is a power steering issue.

fuel pump cracked (part #pfs534) in 2010 ford escape hybrid 2.5l engine similar to recall on other ford escapes with 3.0l engine. cracked fuel pump caused vapor leak engine light. vehicle would still operate but strong fuel smell was coming from the fuel tank area and within the vehicle. i was surprised that the recall only impacted 3.0l engine fuel pump and not other ford escapes, especially when it seems like they are having the same problem and likely have a very similar part.

the contact owns a 2019 ford escape. the contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated and remained illuminated. the contact drove to the gas station and while refueling, there was an abnormal fuel odor coming from the vehicle. after restarting and driving the vehicle back to the residence, the fuel odor inside the cabin of the vehicle was extremely strong, causing the contact to have a headache. the contact took the vehicle to a local dealer who inspected and diagnosed the failure as the emission evap valve was not properly separating the fuel inside the fuel tank. the vehicle was not repaired because the local dealer did not have the parts needed to perform the repair. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 46,000.

when driving for as little as ten minutes and other times longer, my truck will lose power while driving and i will start to feel the truck slow up. then when trying to accelerate i can only get up to 20 mph. also if i take my foot off the gas, without putting my foot on the brake, it'll come to a halt. it does go over 2,500 rpm on a good day. i cant take off fast even if i wanted to. the only code that has come up when dealing with my issue is the catalyic converter. i have replaced my o2 sensors and got a new converter on but still having the same problem. i even replaced the throttle to see if that would help and it has not. no one has been able to help me figure out the issue. i have taken it to reputable shops and mechanic and spent a ton of money trying to resolve my issues. i am fearful for my safety and my son's safety not knowing when it will lose power. i cant even hold a job at the time being because of this issue with my truck.

My 04 Ford Escape has a 4 cylinder and is a manual. It has begun to accelerate by itself. It will accelerate whether it is in gear or in neutral. I assumed there would recall for this problem, as I know other vehicles have been in serious accidents with similar problems. I can take my foot off of the pedal and it will stay at a steady speed, or accelerate, on its own. Often when I'm switching gears, put it in neutral, it will self-rev itself up to 4000+ rpms! I will have to wait and coast for about 10 to 30 seconds for it to bring itself back down to a reasonable rpm to get it into the next gear. So, it is intermittent, but happens about 50% of the time you are driving it, and at times can be very dangerous. I assumed Ford might pay for the repair as this is a dangerous situation, however my dealer says "no" because there is no recall.

I own a 2001 Ford Escape. The locks on the hatch door and hatch glass window do not open consistently, particularly when it is hot outside (I live in FL). There are no other ways to open the door or window as there are no handles on the inside and no key lock on the outside. Ford has not issued a recall for this. I would think this would be some type of safety issue. From blogs I see that other owners have the same problem. It seems the actuator may be at fault.

Just as I parked my 2003 Ford Escape in my driveway, I heard a huge crashing sound. The back window had exploded. I called Ford company of canada. While, acknowledging that it was a defect and a recurring problem, they would not cover the cost of repair ($360) since the vehicle was out of warranty. The man who fixed the windshield told me that the back window exploding has been an ongoing issue with the Ford Escape--- more than any other car/truck/SUV on the road today. Why hasn't there been a recall?.
