My car Is six years old. It was purchased new. Over time the rubbery substance my dashboard Is made of has started to melt and become sticky. I've never had this happen in a vehicle and wouldn't expect it from a Lexus. Recently, the sun has started to glare off of the melting dashboard, onto the windshield, making visibility of the road difficult. I'm concerned for my safety. Lexus needs to Issue a recall. Please help.
The plastic dashboard on my vehicle has become wet and sticky because of the sun. There Is a bad glare fr the dashboard making it dangerous to drive in the sun as I cannot see clearly in front of me.
The dashboard of the car melts in the sun causing excessive glare. I have attempted to have it resolved but Lexus will not fix the problem. There Is something wrong when the dashboard can not withstand normal temperatures in FL.
Interior rear view mirror has become discolored, cloudy with dark marks throughout making it difficult to visualize objects in it. Seems to be a common problem occurring with this model of Lexus. It should be covered under warranty but at this time Lexus has not Issued a recall or extended warranty.
I have a beautiful Lexus Is 250 crimson in color that I bought back in Feb 2012. The dashboard has been completely mutilated. . It Is not a good feeling to know how hard you worked your tail off to be 24 years old and be able to afford the car of your dreams, and now just because it Is out in the sun, the dashboard melts. Sure wish I would have known this information when I bought the car. It was not damaged at that point. It looks terrible and it Is impossible to clean it without making scratches all over it. . I spent a good deal of money for my car, a car that Is suppose to be a luxury model, and yet a car that cost much less and Is not luxury looks so much nicer. Everything sticks to it! hair, dust, anything. . . Lexus has plenty of money to fix the product that they made. It Is a defect in their product, so they need to do the right thing and take responsibility for it. You would think, after the first few complaints over 10 years ago, that they would have stopped using whatever material it Is that has been melting. But no they kept using it and were intentionally screwing over many Lexus owners. And they encourage us to pay the money it takes to fix their problem just for them to make more money. If I were to get in a car wreck from the front, my dashboard would completely and easily be crushed. It actually bends at the point where my speedometer's dashboard rim Is. Really? do they think this Is safe and "luxury"??????? I guarantee that if someone that had this problem were to get in a car wreck and get even remotely injured, there would be a lawsuit. Just not safe. . . . Please do the right thing.
I have a 2008 Lexus Is250 that Is out of warranty. The dashboard and door panels literally started melting. I contacted Toyota/Lexus a few months ago since not only was the dashboard melting by the day but the door panels are also melting ruining several pairs of pants. I was told that the vehicle was out of warranty & that there was nothing they could do. After several calls, I received a call from Lexus stating they would replace the dashboard but I was responsible for the labor. I told them I should not have to pay for anything since it's a manufacturer's defect but they said that the labor was my responsibility. So I went ahead and paid the labor and had the dash replaced. Although Lexus also agreed to replace my door panels, the labor cost of $1,300. 00 was absurd and again my responsibility according to Lexus. I wasn't going to pay that amount that's crazy. So my door panels continue to melt. At this point I want to file a complaint to get reimbursed for the $600. 00 labor I had to pay for the dashboard and would like Lexus to replace my door panel at no charge to me.
The contact owned a 2008 Lexus Is350. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 mph, the steering wheel began to turn to the left independently and crashed into a parked vehicle. The contactโs vehicle rolled over and landed on its roof before stopping. None of the air bags deploy upon impact. A bystander assisted the contact to exit the vehicle by breaking the front passenger side window with his foot. The contact was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The contact sustained bruising on her face and body. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the insurance company lot and deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Prior to the failure, the vehicle was serviced for the air bags recall however, the dealer only replaced the passengerโs side air bag inflator and used masking tape for the engine hoses. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.
Airbag light keeps going on and off. Looked up on google. A lot of people are having this Issue. I filed for a complaint before and got no response.
I received a letter about a recall after being told I will receive a call back. After a few weeks I contacted Lexus set a date of service was given a rent a car by Lexus was told for free but I paid a deposit. Lexus has refunded me my money after I pick up my car a loud noise was coming from the dash I contacted Lexus via email and scheduled a date was told that they forgot to close a lid and that what was making the noise that time they gave me a Lexus loaner not a rent a car. But it's still making that noise my car never made that noise I go in for a recall service and it feels like I should have never gone now I'm scared to drive to not break anything the noise happens when I turn the ac on ether parked or drive I have video of the noise.
