Steering wheel catches and I have had to replace a strut due to the car wearing out my tire. I have kept proper maintenance and align my wheels regularly. This is a manufacturer defect not yet recalled. I've seen multiple people with this issue claiming it may ve the lkas system or steering worm or steering component issue. This needs to be recalled as it will cause death in the right circumstances. Honda do better. Your reputation is degrading.
I turned on my vehicle and randomly had multiple warning lights come on including power steering, acc, vsa, hill start assist, lkas, abs. The power steering completely went out completely randomly but the power steering fluid is full. Two weeks ago I had my fuel pump recalled and now I have these issues. Valley hi Honda in victorville CA has not returned my calls and has been absolutely no help. If I had been driving there would be a good chance I would have crashed as I would have been unable to navigate a turn.
Issue description: -while traveling in a straight line, particularly at speeds above 45 mph, the steering wheel exhibits a sticky behavior. If left untouched for a few seconds, the wheel becomes difficult to turn, requiring significant force to break it free from the straight line. This resistance is felt both while driving straight and during turns, resulting in noticeable sticking and jerking. Details: -lane keep assist and driver assist features are turned off. -when driving straight and not touching the wheel for a few seconds, attempting to make a minor correction causes the wheel to stick. This requires applying considerable pressure to free the wheel, often leading to over-correction. -in turns, if the wheel is held in a steady position for more than a second, it sticks and must be forcibly moved out of the turn. Once unstuck, the steering feels normal again. -the issue is most prominent at speeds above 45 mph affecting both slight left and right adjustments. -potential causes include the steering rack/pinion assembly (eps gearbox) and the possible need for additional lubricant/grease. Symptoms: -sticking and jerking of the steering wheel during slight adjustments. -increased resistance when attempting to correct the wheel after it remains in one position for a few seconds. -inspection and repair of the steering rack/pinion assembly, with consideration for additional lubrication or grease application. -further evaluation of steering wheel, steering column, column lock, steering rack/box, linkages, hydraulic power steering pumps and hoses, electrical power steering motors, actuators, wiring and related sensors, electronic control units and software needed to determine if other components contribute to the sticky steering issue.
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving the traffic sign recognition feature provided an inaccurate speed data. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 307.
There crappy electrical systems and cause a fire! it’s breaks the ac system. Someone could die of heat related reason from driving in 95 degree weather. Damn you Honda!!!.
Purchased 2016 Honda civc 4/2021 - the lane assist feature tries to take the car into on coming traffic. It seems to detect the right lines sometimes but completely ignores the left lines. This is traveling at any speed above 45 mph on dry straight highway.
I have noticed for a while now. When the light turns green or I'm at a stop and I have enough time to take off the car does not move when I apply the gas. It stalls and that scares me. I have noticed my cruise control shut off the other day when driving on the freeway. And I could not turn it back on. Now when I try to apply the parking bake when I'm parked the parking brake does not turn on nor the brake hold. The lights keep flashing than turn odd my headlight in the front and back passenger don't work. I've switched out the bulbs and it's an electrical problem. I see recalls on some of these matters but Honda won't do nothing because it's not on their system when I bought this car in 2016.
There could be nothing in front of my car and warning light could put up saying break break but there’s nothing in front of the car and it will just break itself. It has done that to me on the freeway. With the lane keep assist it’ll say I’m drifting out of my lane but I’m not in the car will start to pull itself back into a lame but I’ve never left lane and then but almost take you off the road if you don’t intervene.
Car was parked in my garage and the alarm set itself off multiple times, when I approached the car it was unresponsive to any key fob commands and the dashboard was completely lit with flashing safety feature warning lights, and airbags were also disabled. Had to open the car with the manual key, since the car would not respond to the key fob. Started the car to see what was going on, when I went to turn it off again, it refused and wouldn't turn off. I proceeded to call roadside assistance after multiple failed attempts to get the car to respond to the key fob and they turned the car off. Two days later I drove car to the dealership, the whole way there all the warning lights were on and all the safety features were disabled and not working. Dealership refused to cooperate or even acknowledge the issue at hand. Took it two times just to be turned away and told they would not help me out, as they claimed they did not find anything wrong with the car, even though when we went to pick it up the vehicle was still not working. The car was bought new, I'm the original owner, only has 14,600 miles. Dealership manager told us that corporate Honda commanded him not to touch the vehicle and to tell us to pick it up. Drove the car back still broken, with all safety features not working, warning lights on, and the alarm continues to set itself off. Had to disconnect battery and it has been sitting in my garage unusable for two weeks now, for it is not safe to drive. Attempted various times to contact corporate Honda for help with this issue, yet they refuse to acknowledge what is going on and will not respond. Please help, this car is unsafe and must be recalled. What would it take for Honda to own up? it seems safety is not a concern for them. It is a safety concern for the car is controlled by unresponsive electronics.
2010 Honda civic. Consumer writes in regards to ima power assist system failure. The consumer stated the vehicle was showing only 75 % of the ima was being charged. In the first few minutes of operation, the ima functioned properly. However, after that amount of time with the a/c turned on the ima battery dropped fairly rapidly even if speed was maintained and the vehicle was being driven on flat terrain. Also, when the charged reached 50%, the charging light illuminated and there was no acceleration drag on the engine. One charging light remained on as the battery tried to not deplete. Another 5-10 minutes of consistent driving either in town or on back roads, the battery would charge at 25%. The battery did continue to re-charge as the he continued to drive along, but at 25% there was no ima assist, which mad acceleration in traffic or gaining speed to merge onto the interstate traffic hazardous. With no ima assist, the vehicle took far too long to reach speed necessary to merge safely. The process from discharge to re-charge for ima usage could take up to 45 minutes. When the a/c was not on, the ima battery did not deplete and the consumer was able to start the vehicle and drive without incident. It appeared that was a drag coming from the a/c that caused the ima to discharge quickly. Furthermore, there were issues when the battery showed itself re-charging. On several occasions, when the battery was at 75% charge, the indicator would show the system, re-charging without changing speed or grade and the green bar would go out and the gray bar would come on, and go off.
