The contact owns a 2015 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving away from a parking lot, the vehicle made an abnormally loud sound. The contact pushed the vehicle back into the parking lot. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact noticed that the front axle had fractured and detached from the vehicle; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
To whom it may concern: I have had my 2015 Honda Civic coupe since October of 2015. First issue, since I bought the vehicle I have noticed a strange clicking sound that happens once when you switch from reverse to drive. For example, I will put out of my drive way in reverse, go a couple yards in reverse, then come to a complete stop and switch it to drive. After I switch it to drive and then drive a couple yards forward, a weird clicking sound comes up, it is towards the front passenger side of the vehicle. I am not sure if it is an axle or hub, or knuckle. The second issue is, my ignition switch. It tends to heat up after a few minutes. The reason I say a few minutes is because, ill put the key into the ignition switch, then turn it and drive off for a couple of minutes around the block. Then ill come to a stop, put the car in park, and remove the key from the ignition, and the key will be extremely hot. The first time it happened, I put my keys in my jean pocket and it burnt me. It wasnt a bad burn to where it left me a scar or anything, but it was still a burn that is not normal.
I called Honda customer care and they told me that the problem that I am experiencing is not covered any longer under the warranty. When I turned left, a clunking noise can be heard, at first I thought it was a drive axle. Brought to the dealer, charged me a diagnostic fee and they confirmed that it is not an axle problem. They told me that it is a bump stop problem, I have two older Honda vehicles and I did not have this problem. Honda struts are mediocre and low in quality. The second problem that I have is evap mil (p2422). As per TSB, this needs to be fixed as well on this same car.
my wife purchased her honda civic brand new from the dealer. approx. 50,000 we started to notice humming and vibration in the front end along with excessive wear on the tires. since then i have replaced several sets of tires. have approx 75,000 on the car and were having front end problems that cannot seemed to be corrected. at various speeds we get a pulsating or vibration out of the right side; and we've had to have several brake jobs as a result including replacing the rotor, caliper, etc. the tires have been rotated multiple times and the vibration is still present. it appears that now the newer set of tires we have are now cupping. it's my understanding there is a tsb from honda on these issues in particular the upper camber which causes the onset of the problems i'm experiencing right now with my car. it's my belief there should be a recall on this car for this reason. i'm out alot of money and i believe honda should be held accountable for fixing their design flaw. honda tsb 08-001 mazie slater katz & freeman, llc are collecting information for a class action lawsuit to protect civic owners. the lawsuit alleges the oem rear upper control arms are too short and cause tire misalignment. it also alleges that honda knew this when it published a tsb and a redesigned control arm part. *tr
Creaking noise from front of car never resolved by keeler Honda albany, NY.
I am a unsuspecting consumer that bought a vehicle that was for sale without discloure of the true condition including brand history. I purchase an unsafe car for my daughter and the second day the break fail and the steering wheel stifness. My daughter took it for a oil change my mechanic said it have a lot of problems oil leak, axle damage, suspension noise. I took it to have the muffler check my mechanic said the muffler had a rotten pipe and two donut gasket that need to replaced which I did. The code present p1259 - vtec solenoid and oxygen sensor. I requested the car fax and it said that it had three minor accidents, three owners, mileage inconsistency. My daughter said while driving the car the speed odometer only goes to sixty miles when speed up and it will not go any further. I never saw a title, sign a transfer form, or go down with him to the court house to get the sticker and transfer paper work. My daughter had to jump out of the car while parking the car. It started smoking like it was on fire. I informed mr. Andrew juma that the car was a junk and I wanted my money back. It has been thirteen days since I purchase the car and I have not got my money back. He made sure that the address where he is located was written wrong, the name of his business was incorrect, the VIN no. Was written incorrect, the odemeter at the time of purchase was not documented on the buyers ower invoice. I purchase this car at a exxon gas station. I sent him a demand letter and I have not gotten any responce. The car is parked infront of my home and my daughter cannot drive the car.
tl* the contact owns a 2003 honda civic. the contact stated that while driving 55 mph, the vehicle swayed from left to right without warning. the failure recurred numerous times. the vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the camber unit was not installed in the rear or front of the vehicle. the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. the failure mileage was approximately 24,000. the vin was unavailable.
dt*: the contact stated the vehicle has been taken to the dealership 6 times to determine what is causing a loud clicking noise at 5mph in the front suspension. the dealership is unable to duplicate the problem. the manufacturer has been alerted. however, no repairs have been made.
the front struts of my vehicle are leaking due to premature failure, which makes the vehicle difficult to control when a bump or slight ding in the road is traveled over. will get the struts replaced, so that my vehicle doesn't fall apart, but it's going to be very . *la
from the day i purchased it, the needle on the speedometer would periodically fluctuate. it was only ever noted on the service reports once. this mention occurred before the factory warranty expired, and the only note from the dealership was that they were unable to duplicate the problem. the needle finally froze on 80mph in 12/06. the dealership charged me $80 just to tell me the speedometer's electrical assembly needed to be replaced, that it would cost several hundred dollars, and that none of the work would be warranted, despite the fact that it had been a documented problem from the date of purchase. when the extended warranty i purchased would not cover any of this either, i called american honda and filed a complaint. their only offer was to pay for the parts, not the labor. i told them this was not acceptable. some time later i received a letter in the mail notifying me of a class-action law suit filed against american honda for the same problems i'm having with my car. i contacted american honda again at the beginning of this year to try once more to resolve this issue. i was told that i would have to take my car to the dealership for a second diagnosis of the problem. i told them that i would be unable to do this because not only is it an inconvenient loss of time, it's another $80 i would have to pay for them to tell me exactly what they've told me before. talking to american honda is an absolute waste of time. the second electrical issue involves the radio and cd player. i had a new cd in one day when it suddenly stopped playing and the display flashed "hot", spitting the cd out. the cd itself was so hot it melted the top portion. still under warranty, i took it to the dealership, where they rolled me right on through service, brushing the problem off as insignificant. this car is a fire hazard. because of american honda, i am operating a vehicle without a properly functioning speedometer, which is against the law. *tr
