2004 Lexus Gx 470. Has frame rot due to the condinsation hose released on top of the passanger side frame. It runs down the passanger side frame and put holes in it due to inproper placement. Now the passanger side door is slighly out of alignment when closed. I have had to wrapp steel around the frame. From front door to front of back wheel. Contacted Lexus at 1800-255-3987 in plano texas for case number 1909231360. Then said only a minor warranty for corresion and it is not covered. Also the person on the phone refused to give me Toyota headquarters mailing address. This rust is on top of the frame and I believe would take 10-15 years to show up. There is now many holes in only the passanger side frame. Here are pictures picture 6100 shows the hose over the frame. Is it possiable the car could brake when driving.
2004 Lexus Gx470 factory-installed blizzard white paint is peeling off in sheets. Was told by certified body shop that there is a clear defect with the primer. The areas affected are the hood, roof, and near back windows - no impact or other damage is present. This is unsafe as it will lead to the corrosion of the body of the car. There was a recall for the 2008-2009 models with this paint color, but this needs to be extended to the 2004 model year as well. There were no warning messages and the car is available for inspection.
I purchased a 2006 Gx470 Lexus SUV because of safety ratings. Within a few months the paint peels off everywhere. It started on the top then on the outside window seals not the hood paint is peeling away. I was told it was a shotty paint job by the manufacturer. Why are they not recalling these vehicles and fixing the paint peeling? I can not get extended warranty to cover the paint. Many other owners of the same vehicle are experiencing the same thing. Forum where many owners of the 2006-2007 have the exact same defect in paint/primer. And, Lexus did recall and offer to repaint fix 2008 and higher but not 2006 or 07. Owners are driving around in a car with paint chipping daily!.
Vehicle maintained per manual. Frame rusted thru in numerous places, viable holes obvious. Vehicle deemed unsafe from pep body service personnel. Attached a frame picture from passenger side.
I have repeatedly contacted Lexus requesting they honor an earlier commitment to replace the cracking of my dashboard I am especially concerned about the cracking where the passenger-side airbag would deploy the cracking could release small projectiles from the dashboard that could function like bullets in the event of an accident that deployed the airbag and its force.
At start up the rear height goes up and stays up. Took it to the shop and they manually bled the air. Said sensor go out all the time and cost a lot to replace. Currently staying level but rides a little tight. Definitely don't want to pay $3000 for a fix.
auto: lexus 2004 gx470 suv part: driver's left foot rest. problem: the part in question became un-bolted to the vehicle inside cabin driver's side floor and became wedged under the brake pedal during vehicle operation. driver (my wife) applied brake approaching stop sign only to find brake pedal stuck. frantic repeated brake pedal application by her finally dislodged foot rest from under brake pedal and the vehicle just barely stopped prior to entering intersection. dealership has agreed to repair part. *nm
my husband was driving our newly purchased 2004 lexus 470gx to georgia when he encountered problems with driving under rainy weather conditions in north florida. my husband communicated the steering was very loose and the car was pulling. according to my husband, this happened two times and on the third incident the vehicle went out of control. my husband was not able to maintain control of the vehicle and it flipped approximately three times before ending up in the median on it's side. my husband is a very safe driver and was exercising much caution when driving. he's driven an suv (1997 toyota 4runner) for eight years. we purchased the vehicle on 12/23/06 and i am concerned that something was wrong with the vehicle. we've driven in worse weather conditions and never had anything remotely wrong happen...i'm not sure what could have caused this and seek out some help and advice. please help. *jb
new lexus gx460 has a vibration in the steering wheel at freeway speed. the vibration can cause the vehicle to drift into the next lane. the dealer attempted to balance the existing wheels and tires two times. this did not work. the dealer then replaced the wheels and tires. this did not work. dealer called toyota tech. all steering, wheel, and suspension parts were checked and found to be ok. car still has the same vibration, and is still at the dealer. car is dangerous to drive in this condition. *tr
after feeling that my brakes hadn't worked properly at a stop light (i almost skid through it), i was traveling about 35 mph around a curve and lightly pressed on the brakes to make sure i would slow down. unbelievably, my brakes completely failed and i actually believe i sped up while at the same time my steering went out of control. i was unable to control or stop the car. after a few seconds i was able to pull off to the right and mud slowed me down enough to come to a stop. it was a truly petrifying experience and the tow truck driver confirmed that my brakes were completely non-functioning when he had to use the emergency brake to get my car on his truck. lexus claimed that they could find nothing wrong with the car, however, which i find to be extremely disturbing. i pray that they do not attempt to resell or lease this car. *tr
