While driving with the windows closed, the air conditioner on, with the recirculate button lit and dash level vents selected, I was overcome by truck exhaust fumes (a truck pulled in my lane ahead of me on the roadway) and briefly lost control of my vehicle from choking and coughing on it's fumes from the truck exhaust. The fumes came through the air conditioning system which pumped the fumes into my vehicle cabin. I was on a high speed limited access highway and was in a busy and dangerous area as two high speed entrance ramps came from the right, also no shoulders to stop due to the beginning of a bridge. I was able to slow down my vehicle and stop coughing, see again and regain control after opening the windows and letting the bad air out.
The dashboard has cracked in two places. One crack is at the corner of the passenger air big and the other is above the instrument cluster. The cracks lead me to suspect the dashboard is either brittle or under stress. What will happen if the airbag deploys? will the dashboard disintegrate and cause injury to the vehicle occupants. There is no excuse for this bad dashboard given today's technology. My vehicle has never been in an accident so this should not be happening.
Cracked dash above driver instrument cluster and around passenger airbag.
Dashboard cracked in two places like many other 2007-2011 gm. Concerned of safety issue if airbags were to deploy. Plastic from dash could injure or possibly pierce airbag rendering it useless.
Abs sensors I think are bad cuz my brake pedal fluctuates and hasn't done that in a long time it went away no dash lights for the abs but it's definitely coming from the brake pedal?.

on august 13th, 2008 i went to darryl burke chevy to consider buying a new truck and trading my 2006. during the trade in appraisal, the sales manager ask if the vehicle had ever been in an accident? i informed that no it had not. he said the tire, safety, and parts label vin did not match the vin in the windshield. i looked and witnessed the same information. the sales manager said that this would drastically effect the trade in value of my vehicle because it appears that replacement parts have been used. while researching this issue, i found that this must have occurred in the manufacturing process because there are 2 other vehicles which were shipped to other states that have the same problem. they have the labels on them that should be on my vehicle. the national insurance crime bureau has examined the other vehicles and determined that the manufacturer caused this mishap. i need to know if nhtsa can help with this issue because obviously most any dealer is going to recognize the discrepancy and may result in a depreciation in the value of my vehicle. the following vins appear on my vehicle. windshield , safety label , part label match windshield, tire load label . thanks for any help. *tr
the engine keep crashing down, the indicator say low engine pressure, check engine pressure, then the hole truck will shut down in the middle of producing. this happen three time already. im on the highway driving 80mil and the truck will shut down, cant move the wheel, cant change lines, cant restart the truck or anything. this has almost coast me life three time. what kind of safety shut down is that. i think it is very unsafe and needs to change or fix. i spent over 2,500.00 on my truck thinking the problem is fix, but it keep recurring. the chevy engineers guys just say that the prob cant be fix and my best bet is to get a new truck, or engine. i don't have money for that. *tr
blower motor stopped working last year. i had a new blower motor installed and the replacement stopped working. when i brought my truck to be repaired for the second time, i was informed that there is a problem with the wiring/resistor which supplies power to the blower motor. apparently, the motor pulls more power than the wiring is rated for which causes it to heat up and burn the insulation off of the wiring under the dashboard. my mechanic told me that i should consider myself lucky that my truck did not catch fire like another customer's truck he had recently repaired for the same reason as mine had. i feel that i have paid for repairs twice due to defective gm parts. *tr
Dash has severely cracked. If air bag was to deploy, the hard plastic of the cracked dash could very likely injure occupants within the vehicle. While driving down smooth roadway, we started hearing cracking noises and found the dash cracking.
