THE TURN SIGNAL IS NOT AUDIBLE WHEN THE TOP IS DOWN. NISSAN COULD USE THE RADIO, HORN OR DOOR LOCK SOUNDER FOR THIS. THIS IS THE MOST POORLY DESIGNED CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED! THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER DESIGN FLAWS - RADIO, DEALER SERVICE, LIGHTS - I AM NOT GOING TO WASTE MY TIME LISTING THEM SEPERATELY. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER NISSAN VEHICLE AFTER OWNING THIS VEHICLE, IN FACT, I AM GOING TO SELL IT AT A LOSS JUST TO GET RID OF IT.
my 2008 RED roadster with 1000 miles began getting red paint defects in the hood and front fenders. Dealer says paint chips from road chips. Even if that is true, a new car should not chip so easily. My 1984 vette has NO CHIPS and has 130000 miles. Chips all over down to the white primer. There is DEFINITELY a problem with the softness or lack of hardness and durability of the red paint. I don't see this on the other colors in the dealer lot.
This beautiful red 350 Z has developed dozens of tiny paint defects over the hood down to the white undercoating. It looks like there may have been dust particles on the surface at the time of painting. The company says this was caused by"road debris" and will not evaluate it further. The vehicle has been impeckably cared for, garaged and not driven where any unusual "road debris' would have been encountered. The distribution of the defects is also inconsistant with impact damage.
Ok. Its Christmas 2012. My son has always wanted a 350z, but he knew his parents could not afford one. My son is the best person finishing school with honors, and continuing on to college. He deserved a new car. Well his mom and I found one, used as we could not afford a new one, in the style he had expressed to one of his friends. On Christmas day without his knowledge, he received his new car in a "Christmas Story style" presentation on Christmas morning. Afterwards we started to notice the paint was starting to fade. We did not notice it at first, as we bought the car from a Ford car dealer here in eastern North Carolina and they had it shined up of course. The paint got worse and worse, finally into different shaded of red over the whole car. The mirrors started to chip and blister. It was horrible. We first went to the Car dealership and of course they do not want to help us. We were told to go to the Nissian dealership close by and that was a damn joke. They acted like the problem was my fault and any repair was to come out of the manager pocket. He advised he would take pictures and send them to Nissian corporate office to see what they would do. I could have bet my paycheck on the answer I would receive, and guess what,, I WAS RIGHT! gee what a shocker!!!! I called the Nissian office after receiving my case number. They little girl at Nissian office acted like I had screwed up the paint and they were not to fix the problem. She had a "I don't give a damn" attitude on the phone. she talked over me the whole time we were on the phone. She made me so damn pissed off I just hung up. Bottom line, the car is real nice to own being very stylish and fun to drive. My son still loves his car, crappy paint and all. We are EXTREMELY disappointed with the car dealerships and especially the Nissian Corporate office. They should really listen to the people having this same trouble. I read a comment from someone else with the exact same problem. To anyone else thinking about buying the same car,, LOOK OUT. If you have a problem, well tough S_ _ _ T!!. you will just have a 5 tone 350Z!!!
MY 2008 RED NISSAN 350Z PAINT HAS FADED TO THE POINT WHERE WE HAVE FOUR DIFFERENT COLORS OF RED. ABOUT 18 MONTHS AFTER THE PURCHASED, WE STARTED NOTICING THE FADING PAINT. AT 30 MONTHS I GOT FED UP AND BROUGHT MY FADED DULL (NOT SO RED) CAR TO NISSAN OF SLIDELL IN SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA TO GET REPAIRED. THE PLASTIC BUMPERS AND PLASTIC ITEMS ON THE CAR WERE NOT AFFECTED AND ARE STILL FACTORY RED, BUT THE OTHER 85% OF THE CAR IS BADLY FADING. THEY TOOK PICS AND TALKED ME INTO A FREE DETAIL. THE DETAIL WAS BETTER BUT DID NOT ADDRESS THE DIFFERENT COLOR SHADES OF PAINT. MY WIFE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER AND THUS MY ATTENTION SHIFTED FROM HER CAR TO HER LIFE. A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER OUR 36 MONTH WARRANTY EXPIRED. MY WIFE IS IN REMISSION AND DOING GREAT AND OUR ONCE RED Z IS 4 SHADES OF FADED PINK. WE PUT A FORMAL COMPLAINT TO CORPORATE NISSAN AND THEY DENIED US ON THE GROUNDS THAT THE ENTIRE CAR DID NOT FADE EVENLY THUS IT MUST OF BEEN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES THAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM. I JUST FOUND OUT THAT ANOTHER 350Z OWNER HAS THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM AND HER CAR WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A BAD CLEAR COAT. I AM TRYING TO FIND OTHER Z OWNERS WITH THIS FADED PAINT PROBLEM.
click to see larger images I purchased my 2008 Nissan 350Z brand new on March 19, 2009. Almost immediately the paint started to fade. The left mirror started to crackle after only 7 months. At first, at night under lights is when you could see all of the color variations. The painted metal was dull and the painted plastic (?) was shiny. I told my salesman-Ruben Rodriguez, the service department-Donald Stewart/ Ron Geddings and even the general manager-Hutch Pine at Victoria Nissan about it. Ruben tried to help me but, the manager and the service department have yet to contact me. I filed a complaint with the Nissan corp. consumer affairs. Miguel Montanez from the Nissan Consumer Affairs told me that I needed to get a diagnosis from a Nissan dealership with a bodyshop. I took off a day of work and drove about 120 miles-one way to a Sterling McCall Nissan in Stafford, TX. They were very concerned. They diagnosed it as having no clearcoat applied during manufacturing. I have it in writing. Still they denied me 2 times. Miguel Montanez even admitted to me on the phone that they have many problems with the Z's clearcoats. I have a lawyer retained and we will see what will happen. Has anyone else ever sued Nissan? If so, what was the outcome? I now have just over 23,000 miles on my vehicle. If I would have known that in less than 2 years time that my sportscar would turn pink...I surely would not have bought it. Neither would anyone else. This is a just not right. I have a small business myself and when something breaks too quickly, I replace it. I have 2 RED vehicles outside. A 2005 Pontiac Sunfire with over 100,000 miles on it and the 2008 Nissan Z, that cost 3 times as much and I still owe on it that is PINK. The Pontiac is shiny as can be. Go figure. The Z is a vehicle, not a silk blouse. The paint job should have lasted a long time. Nissan should be VERY ashamed. They should hang their heads down.
We bought 2 units Nissan Cefiro 350jm in Feb 2008. Our car maintenance & service all along send back to Nissan agent till now. Unfortunately, two cars also have a lot of maintenance in year 2010. Now, one of the car gear box has problem, the agent need I change the new gear box with the cost S$10,000.00. My cars every 5,000 mileage send back to Nissan agent to service very close. Only 3 years car my gear box damaged. The Nissan agent said cause I am unlucky. Only 3 years car with very close service in Nissan agent, gear box damaged, I can't accept.
I LOVE my 350Z,I bought the extended warranty, that's a good thing! The soft top might be covered, if it is the mechanism.Nissan dealership will replace some parts and then see if that stops the top from getting any new cuts, it is very easy to see that stress pressure could be the cause. I'm told not to put the top down until the new parts are installed. the top is in like new, shape, and the rips are only the lower part of the top where the defrost glass window is located, I guess that is a lot more expensive because of the defroster in the window. I truly believe that the alignment is off. I will send in the results.
i hope that nissan takes responsibility to fix my car. thank you
I have a 2007 350z purchased with 4 miles on the odometer garage kept and driven less then 5,000 miles a year basically a weekend car on or about 6/1/2014 the clutch pedal started sticking to the floor which led to there being no pressure and finally unable to shift gears. Upon taking the car to the dealership I was told I need to replace the clutch and assembly at a cost of $2,200, there has to be some design flaw as I read the previous complaints with clutch failures at less miles then mind.
