While accelerating the car will hesitate and the rpms jump to around 4000 then back to 2500 then up to 3500 if you take off too quickly. I’ve found it best to very, very slowly try to build up speed. When coming to a bridge I build speed before approaching knowing much of the velocity will be bled off before I reach the top. I’m planning to have a used transmission installed to replace this one. The total cost is estimated to be $1850 for a vehicle I’ve had for just over 2 years.
Three weeks after purchasing the vehicle I went to Matt Bowers Nissan because my driver side front window would not go up. The window would cant forward and jam, only the back was rising. They told me I was pushing on the window (I wasn’t) and bent the arm that raises it so it’s not covered by warranty. They wanted over $700 to repair. I went to a non dealer shop with a part I ordered online for $175 and they fixed it for an additional $100. Three weeks later I was having the same problem. Went back to the shop and they said the arm that raises the window was bent, and the asked if I was leaning on the window when it was partially raised. I informed them I wasn’t but I did raise and lower the window several times a day. They bent the arm back (free of charge) and warned me to be careful of it. A few days later, while in a drive through, I noticed that the rubber gasket in the door was moving up when the window raised and was binding the window. I cut part of the gasket away and haven’t had a problem since. The only drawback is the window rattles a bit if its completely rolled down, but at least it goes up with no problem now.
I'm very unhappy with NISSAN having issues that can't be fixed. I have bought 5 Nissan cars from same dealership and this will be my last one. Rather spend a bit more and go to TOYOTA, a very reliable company.

I'll come back and add to this - I gotta get back to work.
My wife was driving 2 miles home from work when her Nissan Versa SR curtain and seat-mounted side airbag system deployed for no apparent reason. These air bags encapsulated her resulting in suffocation and she was very lucky the fire department truck was right behind her and were able to stop and rescue her via cutting her out of these air bags so she could breath - otherwise she would have been dead. In addition, she was unable to steer or brake the car; but, was only going at 25 MPH so car slowed and stopped in the middle of the road. She contacted AAA to tow the auto to the Nissan Dealership for repairs and I was arrived shortly after and found the dealership service rep yelling at her trying to get her to admit to hitting the curb with her tire... there was no curb nor any sort of accident and the air bags malfunctioned for unknown reasons. The dealership subsequently has to refused to honor the warranty by trying to blame the driver (my wife) and saying the tire was impacted. The engine computer code reads a code indicating there was a roll-over which activated the air bags. The only damage was the deployed air bags and my wife who was bruised and traumatized with delayed shock and PTSD. She is now terrified of ever driving another Nissan and so am I since this is the second Nissan I've owned where dealerships will not honor the warranties. The problem with Nissan Side Air Bags does not seem to have been fixed... the bigger problem is what happens if these air bags deploy for no reason when one is driving during rush hour traffic at 70 MPH and one can't steer or brake?
They're just cheap ass lil' hub caps is all. The other beefs I have with this car will follow shortly.
From time to time the throttle doesn't respond right away when pressing the gas pedal. The first time I noticed it it took 3-4 seconds after pressing the pedal before the engine started to respond/rev up. This is especially problematic with a manual transmission. Trying to take off from a stop on a hill like that runs the risk of drifting into the car behind you. Fortunately, I've been able to manage when it occurs. I've also found if I turn the car off for 30 seconds to a minute it starts working correctly again. However, this makes it impossible for the dealership to diagnose because if it doesn't do it when the car is there, there's nothing they can do to figure it out. I'm pretty sure it's either the pedal position sensor or the electronic throttle body malfunctioning but no way to know for sure. I miss the old cable driven throttle bodies that moved continuously with the pedal. Electronics can randomly malfunction and making diagnosing them very difficult.
I went to Nissan to check on engine light and I told them had warranty. I had to pay $144.00 to check and they told me to fix costs $1000.00. I am unhappy with them because I have warranty and my car had 65500 miles. I got at 23000 miles and it was certified in 2015 but now I have light on.
There is a delay in the acceleration. The engine is too small for the size of the car in my opinion. So lets say you are in a parking lot and you are turning onto a small hwy. There is plenty of space for a normal v6 or even a turbo v4 or v8 to go and not have to worry about the guy coming up hitting you. You go to step on the pedal and there is a slight delay on acceleration and then it goes. That delay allows the vehicle to get really close and either have to brake or honk at you because your not accelerating up to the proper speed fast enough, which means that you have to wait until it is perfectly clear if you don't want to risk causing an accident. But if you wait until its perfectly clear you have people behind you who are honking at you because your taking the gap that they could have made.SUGGESTION OR PROBLEM SOLVED: I would recommend doing what other car companies are doing where they put a turbo 4 cylinder engine in it so it has some power or just get a vehicle that has a v6 and it wont be an issue. I personally feel that the engine is too small for the size and weight of the vehicle. So NISSAN please beef it up or don't bother with it because the gas mileage isn't that great and you can go get a v6 Camry or v6 Sentra and get the same fuel mileage. If I had known this information I probably wouldn't have bought it. I only bought it for the price nothing else.
