Sunroof glass exploded while driving car.
Lexus app for android and gps not working properly in my 2022 Lexus Rx350. I have immediately complained to my Lexus dealer - bobby rahal Lexus and Lexus corp in plano, TX as well. No use, I had paid a huge sum and dealer also charged me several fees.
Oil cooling line busted and completely emptied oil all over the road while driving. Was making loud noises and had to come to a complete stop and pull over.
The lane departure camera is mounted to the windshield and the glass between the windshield and the camera becomes fogged over time. This results in the lane departure system becoming less sensitive or inoperable - in particular in low-light or when sun was shining toward the camera (dusk/dawn). It also results in the adaptive cruise control becoming more erratic (abrupt in stops). This design puts the user of the vehicle and others around them at risk as key safety systems are compromised. This is in an area that is generally not easily accessible for an owner to clean. However, I was able to remove the camera and clean the glass (please see pictures) and normal function resumed immediately. This is not an operation a owner should attempt and there are warnings about camera re-calibration. I believe NHTSA should consider this a design defect that could be cured by a visit to a dealer (periodically) with their technicians performing a complementary cleaning of the interior camera glass to ensure the camera continues to function properly. About the car: this car has never been in an accident, non-smoker, always garaged (no sun/heat exposure) driven in the city with no dust or debris in the cabin (exceptionally clean inside and out) 33,500 miles at time of cleaning (photos attached). I believe this fog is due to off-gassing of cabin materials that occurs naturally as the vehicle ages.
I was driving up a hill, turning on to a dirt road. I had my foot on the brake as I was going down hill, I bounce from the crevice on the dirt road. My car started going faster, I kept my foot on the brake trying to stop, but it did not stop. I avoided hitting a parked car and slammed in to a k-rail. My car would not stop.
Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Lexus Rx8. The contact stated that while entering a parking space, the vehicle suddenly accelerated and crashed into a wall. There was extensive front end damage to the vehicle. No one was injured and the police were not notified. The vehicle was towed to an auto body shop for repairs. The manufacturer was notified who advised that the investigation of the failure would take thirty days to complete. The contact stated the vehicle was given back to her after the body damage was repaired but the memory card that was retrieved was not inspected to determine the cause of the acceleration failure. The failure mileage was 50,000. Kmj.
"check vsc" system with accompanying continuous beep noise, brakes become hard to push/activate. This started a few weeks ago, and would happen intermittently, and progressively longer in the dysfunctional brakes phase. I had an employee at auto zone clear the code 2 days ago, but the problem started again, intermittently upon vehicle start, but would go away shortly, with normally responsive brakes. This intermittent issue occurs when I am driving, therefore this is a serious road hazard as my brakes become significantly less responsive when the problem occurs. In other words, this occurs when stationary and when driving, intermittently.
i just wanted to let you know that my wife and i have experienced the engine accelerating on the 2007 lexus 400h while coasting to stop signs. this occurrence started about 3-4 months after we got the car and does not occur all of the time. the gas pedal seems to override the engine acceleration problem, however, the issue seems to be similar to what others have seen in other cars. this issue has been reported to the dealership in the past before the recalls without any satisfaction. this model is not on the recall list, but i wanted to raise the concern as it seems to be a problem similar to what is happening in other vehicles and may help to indicate that the true issue may not be the floor mats or the gas pedal design. my wife is concerned since the engine is accelerating without the gas pedal depressed. since the brake is overriding the acceleration, it would indicate to me that the issue is not a sticking gas pedal. *tr
dt*: the contact stated while attempting to apply brake pressure at 30 mph the vehicle accelerated. this occurred on dry roads during normal braking without warning. the vehicle was taken to the dealership for inspection. upon inspection, they were unable to duplicate the problem and no repairs were made. the manufacturer was alerted.
2004 lexus rx 330 had a complete breakdown on december 6, 2006 with just over 43,000 miles. vehicle had to be towed to the dealer. they said that the battery was completely dead and had to be replaced. this shouldn't happen in this newer luxury vehicle. they replaced the battery which was under warranty. *jb
