I am financing a 2006 Lexus Rx400h hybrid and the other day I went out to start it up and the light and everything came on but would not display ready and would not start. Check hybrid system with red triangle was on dash display along with several other warning lights, also when I put the key in the ignition it will release in the acc position. Where I am purchasing the vehicle will not fix it saying my VIN is not part of the recall list and the Lexus dealership to me it was to late to have the recalled parts replaced for free. What do I do?.
Brake pedal goes soft while holding brakes on at a stop. The car will start to roll forward unless more brake pedal pressure is applied. Brake pedal goes almost to the floor. Pumping the brakes restores pressure. My shop bled the brakes twice and found no air in the system. Bleeding did not correct the issue. They said there is a problem with the master cylinder and it needs to be replaced. . .
In 2005 I bought the Lexus 400 hybrid. I immediately detected a problem with the brakes - there was a hesitation when depressed and then a second or two it would engage. The dealer told me that I needed to "get used to hybrid driving. " when I brought it in for service in March of 2006 I again told the dealer that the breaks were not right. They did their assessment and told me that this is the way it is. Now hearing all the problems with Toyota and Lexus I think you should be aware of this. I recently wrote to Lexus and they immediately brought my car in and are keeping it for further investigation. I do not know what they will find or what they will ultimately tell me.
I bought a Lexus Rx400h back in 2013-2014 and recently my car experience some serious issues. While driving on the highway to take my son to his football game my abs system completely went out on me almost causing me to crash. I recently went to Lexus to find out the problem and was told it was my actuator. I ask Lexus about a recall I was informed of back in 2016-2017 for actuator and they stated it never was a recalled. Since I never was notified and only heard about it from another Lexus mechanic I ask him for documents and he tried to throw away the paper that showed my car was recalled for the actuator, melting dash board and economic loss class action lawsuit. I need help figuring out what I can do to get Lexus to honor the safety recalls on my car.
The contact owns a 2005 Lexus Rx330. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 mph, the brake pedal was depressed but the vehicle was slow to respond. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who informed the contact that the duralast brake master cylinder was inoperable. The contact was informed that the piston in the brake master cylinder had become dislodged, causing the braking system to become less efficient. The mechanic replaced the part. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 210,000.
The brakes make a strange chirp-type noise when I apply pressure, usually it happens when I am stopped and my foot on the brake. Holding my foot steady on the brake and it happens randomly and often. I had my brakes checked and the pads and rotors are fine; they told me it was the actuator and was a known Lexus problem. This has been happening for several months and I have never gotten a notice from Lexus stating it is a problem.
when braking, if a pothole or bump in the road is hit or when either the temperatures are really cold (on occasion) or the hybrid battery charge is close to full, the car's regenerative braking stops and there is a delay in the friction brakes being applied by the system. when this occurs, the car seemingly jerk forward for a second. dealer stated that there is nothing wrong with the brakes. this behavior has recurred over the last 4 years/60,000 miles. no fix from lexus. had to learn to expect this behavior and drive accordingly (on occasion having to emergency brake with abs activated). *tr
brakes slip on my lexus 400 hybrid suv, 2006 model. this occasional slippage has always been a part of this car since i bought it. i have brought it to the dealers attention and they say they could not find anything wrong. these incidents have continued to happen from 2006 purchase date until the present, 2010. *tr
the regenerative brakes on my lexus rx 400h will stop working during normal braking operation causing the operator to have to apply more pressure to the break pedal to compensate for the loss of regenerative breaking. this is an intermittent problem and you never know when you will have to make a braking adjustment. this problem first started in december, 2007. i purchased the car in april, 2005. i do not feel that an operator of a vehicle should have to make sudden adjustments in their breaking action to compensate for the disengagement of a portion of the breaking system, especially when you never know if it is going to happen. i have taken this back to the lexus dealer on several occasions and they tell me that they believe the car is working normal, even when the problem is intermittent. *tr
the road was snowy and slippery, but not icy. when the vehicle about 50 feet ahead of me stopped for the traffic light, i applied the brakes, but to no effect. my vehicle did not slow, and i didn't hear the noise of the anti-lock brake system. i chose to go off the road and hit a pipe railing rather than the tanker truck that was stopped in front of me. other vehicles at the same location had no problem stopping. copies of my correspondence with toyota are available. toyota only road tested the vehicle on dry pavement.
