Above about 45 MPH this car wanders all over the road. There is no "on center" feel and you have to constantly make corrections to keep it in the lane. It is really unnerving to drive when it feels like the car might just dart into the oncoming lane at any moment.
Even tho I took it to Subaru at 85,000 to diagnose the problem, they refused to look at without me paying 250 dollars. Even though I had to replace my clutch at 65k, they said the problem wasn't related and not covered. Now at 120k miles I have a car I'm still paying off but can't afford to have fixed.Subaru said and I quote, "Well I guess you should of not put on so many miles."I guess all their talk about their cars still being on the road at 300,000 miles is just talk. Nice to know they stand behind their cars.
As driving home, less than a mile from my house, flashing light AT oil temp high. Instructed to stop engine. I get the car immediately to Subaru dealer. Called Tow truck. Got there before closing. No parts there. Ordered parts. They gave me a loaner car. Fixed about 5 business days later. I asked for financial assistance. The $1800 repair was reduced to $200. For my part. The problem: I was sent an extended warranty letter that covered this the year before. I took in my letter. Subaru wouldn’t fix then because the car wasn’t showing symptoms but a year later, it did. They said the letter was about the same issue but my car was over the. 100,000 mile limit. This cost me $200.00, a tow, and the inconvenience of not having my own car to drive.
It began with the ABS warning light, hill start warning light, and vehicle dynamics warning lights turning on and staying on during the middle of a highway speed (100km/h). Scared me, but it turned out that I still could steer and had control of the vehicle. Then it started causing problems by refusing to change gears out of PARK. The engine would start (like normal), I'd step on my brakes after putting my seat belt on to get it out of PARK, but the three warning lights would turn on and my gear stick would be immovable. I had to turn off and restart my car ignition multiple times over a span of 10 minutes to get it out of my garage for work. I work a split shift. I drive 23km+ one way to work at a neighboring town every day. I commute on a busy highway. I depend on a reliable vehicle that won't refuse to get out of park.It will take my local dealership 4+ weeks until they can have their people take a look at it. There are only two dealerships in my city, and with the upcoming summer vacation season, I do understand that they are busy. But they can't arrange a vehicle for me to use in the meantime, and I'll even be paying out of my own pocket to have a vehicle to drive during my appointment and repair. I've had to drive this vehicle with this problem after reporting to my dealership for 2 days because they can't or won't do anything in the meantime.I have been invited by the person who booked my appointment that I'm more than welcome to bring my vehicle in earlier if it breaks down on me. No idea who's going to be paying for the towing fees if and when that happens as my 360 CARE program will not cover any breakdowns that occur within 360km of my residence. This complaint post may get longer depending on what my dealership and my vehicle decides to do.
click to see larger images Over the past week while I was driving the ABS, traction control, hill start assist lights would come on. The next time I'd start my car they would be off. Then this past Saturday after pumping gas, I started my car and the lights were on. I could shift out of park and was stuck at the gas pump. I had to turn my car on and off a handful of times and it finally work. This happened again as I was leaving work on Sunday. Then again on Monday in the morning on my way to work. Took over 20 minutes to get it out of park. I was about 10 minutes late for work. Brake lights, abs and cruse control are not working while this problem occurs.I call my dealership to make an appointment to get this checked out. I've had multiple different issues with my local Subaru dealership (Very very poor customer service). I have yet another problem with them, the earliest they would get me in, is in 5 weeks (the last week of September!!!). I was like, so my car is pretty much unusable for the next 5-6 weeks. You guys cant help me out. Nope, that's the best they can do. So I told them well I guess I have to try to fix it myself since I need my car. They were just like okay good luck. WTF?!?!. So this is why I haven't just took it to the dealership even though its under warranty. (after a few talks with the GM there, he has agreed to pay for the new brake switch)So after some research I discovered that it is the brake light switch (sometimes called stoplight switch). Stop by AutoZone and pick a new one up (Duralast brand) and replace it in my car. Boom the problem seems to be fix. ABS, traction control, hill start assist lights are off. My brake lights work, I can get out of park.
Problem diagnosed as "car not driven enough" to maintain battery charge. Battery will die in 3 weeks with daily use of only 2 or so miles.
I was informed that a rodent had chewed through the soy-based cover and wiring. The car had been parked outside of our garage for approximately one month. We live in the mountains. This car was marketed to us as the perfect car for mountain use. What the heck? And, it had a soy-based cover over the wiring? I paid $1500 to feed a ground squirrel? Geez!!! We lost all steering. Had to have the Impreza Sport towed to the dealership. Will not be purchasing a Subaru again.
radio/audio has periodic echoBrand new Impreza has annoying echo in radio that comes and goes with no apparent pattern. Don't know if this is just my car or a design issue. I'd like to know that before going back to the dealer.
They have lots of Starlink problems and the Entertainment systems SUCKS, but I seem to have lost Bluetooth all together. No network name broadcast, and all the options on the Bluetooth selection screen are grayed out.
It feels like the car Will cutoff for a brief sec it happens every 20 to 30 seconds. when in highway with or without cruise, the dealer changed compressor but it continues, now the said the engineer needs to look at it but no answer. when I called to ask speak with engineer they said they don't know when he will be in and here we are 21000 miles and still no answer, it is very annoying on long rides probably will get another car.
