My airbag light has been illuminated for the past few months. It does not illuminate while someone is in the seat. Once reset, it stays off for a while. When checked, the mechanic informed me that the sensor in my passenger seat needs to be replaced. Due to this malfunction, the vehicle may improperly deploy airbags. This has not happened but I’m concerned that it could possibly happen.

I've owned my 2002 Nissan for about 6 months now the previous owner informed me prior to purchase about issues she was having and the reason she was selling the car, explain to me that her friend who has worked on cars 20+ yrs felt if cause could be found it was repairable but seems luck she had is now the luck I'm having. I have a couple ppl look over the car under hood and run diagnostics but nothing can be found. . I can't afford to junk the car my income budget is tight and doesn't allow much wiggle room to purchase a new ride a friend told me about the NHTSA website so we went exploring entering my VIN number comes back no recalls but looking over the recalls for saying make and model and year of my vehicle there's 12 to 15 recalls on it from headlights which I'm is an issue to engine stalls to catalyst issues but yet I'm told that no because we're done on my vehicle I know I'm not the first owner it's a vehicle that I just purchased but I want to speak to someone that can clarify or help me with finding out if my vehicle is actually supposed to be in recalls of these certain things because they were fitted the descriptions of what can take place fit what I'm experiencing and what the previous owner is experienced perfectly please contact me thank you for your time.

my 2010 nissan altima 2.5s accelerates slowly when turning from a stop. i made a left turn against oncoming traffic. the oncoming car was about 200 ft away. i pressed the acellerator hard. the cvt transmission felt like it disengaged.the engine rev'ed but the tires didn't spin. the oncoming car must have locked his brakes as i was hit in the rear quarter panel. their were no injuries. i had only had this car three months at the time. i feel the cvt transmission should be recalled as i am not the only one to post problem with the cvt. *tt

the automobile accelerated while the consumer's foot was on the brake. the consumer took the vehicle to the dealer/mechanic three times and because the vehicle did not duplicate the problem, the mechanic was unable to find out what was happening with the automobile. the third time he just left the vehicle with mechanic/dealer so that they may drive the automobile to see if the problem resurfaced. *ak the vehicle was shifted into drive but went into reverse. *scc *jb

we purchased a 2003 nissan altima s on november 12, 2002. we noticed a rough vibration when we are sitting at a traffic light in drive and when we have it in park. we took it back to the dealership the next day to be checked and we were told it was normal. we wanted to exchange the vehicle for another altima of same value because we have friends with 2002-2003 altimas and they are not having this problem. we have taken it back several times but they still continue to say it is normal. also, we are having a problem with acceleration on this vehicle. when you take off it hesitates before it picks up speed and the transmission doesn't seem to be changing out smoothly. we aren't having any luck with the dealership we purchased it from. it seems as though they don't care about the customers after they get your $20,000 + check. i really think there should be a better way for customers to receive quality service from these dealerships after purchase. we feel like we purchase a 2003 lemon and we think that nissan corp. should make these dealerships that are selling their products satisfy the customer before/after the sale. *tt

when shifting gears in hot weather after being in city traffic my clutch would only come up approx. 1/4 way from the floor. i was able to carefully shift gears, but felt i may not have the control to shift next time. after the car cooled by driving outside the city, the clutch would return to normal. the dealer failed to reproduce the problem. the clutch fluid was the original. i had the clutch fluid drained and filled, only to still have the same problem. i suspect that air flow was restricted when a recall resulted in a heat shield being installed on the engine that redirected more heat to the clutch lines/cylinders. fortunately, this only happens a few times each summer. *tr

i rented vehicle for the weekend and used it for 1 day. i drove it down state to champaign 250 miles and made a stop. when i got back in the car and started it up, it hesitated to change gears but did, so i turned and drove the car home to chicago. the weather temperature was very fridget outside . when i got to chicago the vehicle stopped i could start it up but it would go into gear. the engine sounded very fine there was nothing else noticeable, no loud noises in the car. i called enterprise aaa towed the car to the enterprise rental place. i rented a smoke color vehicle. my insurance company said that he is charging me $5,000.00 for a brand new transmission for a 2005 nissan and for a serpentine belt and a oil change . the vehicle has already been repaired. i have not been given any information on anything or its whereabouts. *jb
