While traveling over a speed bump, driveway entry, or railroad crossing, a loud mechanical clunking sound occasionally comes from the car. The clunking sound is definitely from the front, and appears to be from the right front suspension. The sound occurs when the car comes down to its lowest point of suspension travel. This clunking sound occurs most frequently over speed bumps, and occasionally at driveway entries, and railroad crossings. The clunking sound has occurred with the brakes on and off. The sound has most frequently occurred at slow speeds and occasionally occurred at normal street speeds. The clunking sound has occurred while the steering wheel is turned and while it is straight. The car is one year old, and the first incident occurred between 8k-9k miles. The car has not been in any accident, or any condition that would damage the suspension, and the suspension has not been serviced. The car has not been inspected for the issue yet. The car will be inspected at the next scheduled service of 15k miles. The issue has not yet been reported to the dealer because the issue is intermittent. The issue cannot be exactly replicated during a text drive, but it happens randomly and often enough to be a nuisance.

Started hearing metal rattling in the front passenger wheel area. Took it to a local garage and the mechanic found that a section of the spring around the strut had completely broken off. I did not hit anything or go into a pot hole. The mechanic was very supprised that the spring had broken.
I took my vehicle to a Toyota dealership and I was told that they could not "replicate the noise." The nose finally became so annoying that I took it to a private mechanic and they were able to determine that the noise (similar to putting a card in the spoke of a bicycle) was a cracked right front axle. The total cost was $489.00 and the noise is now gone.
while driving 70 mph the vehicle would vibrate severely and cause loss of steering control, vehicle been to dealer on three occasions, and informed consumer that nothing could be found. feel free to provide any further information. *ak
i purchased a 2004 toyota camry limited edition. this car handles poorly, like driving in a windstorm. it has been back to 2 different dealers that haven't been able to fix it. the toyota reps have looked at it and told me that there is nothing wrong. i filed for arbitration in 10/05. the arbitrator agreed that there is a problem and ordered toyota to correct it. the toyota reps have not yet been able to fix it. i am now seeking arbitration to have toyota buy the car back. *jb
