When the manual seat height adjustment is set to the maximum height on the drivers side, the seat will gradually ease down over time as you are driving. You will have to pump the lever up to get it back to the maximum height. The passenger side works fine and have had no issues with it. It doesn't matter if I am driving or my wife, we have the same problem with the seat. Had the vehicle back to the VW dealership and they can not duplicate the problem since you have to drive the vehicle for an hour or so. I bought the car new and have had this problem since day one.
The frame around the lights melted. The dealership said they had never seen or heard of this problem.
Airbag light is on within one month after deliver. Nothing happened before. The airbag needs to be changed. It take a really long long long time! I have been waiting for about 50 days!!! without fixed till now! But they said it's almost done. Really awful with a new car!!!Fuel door is hard to open, press and press again and again.
both doors make loud torturous sounds when opened or closedI purchased this car in 4/20/16, the passenger side door was not opened by me due to the unknown locking system which defers unlocking the passenger door by the keyless fob and must be unlocked manually by the driver once inside the car. It's a safety feature which I found later. Upon unlocking the passenger side door the car emits a torturous sounds which is extremely loud and makes everyone cringe, sounds as if someone is twisting metal . It has gotten worse over the past two months since I owned the car and the driver side door is now doing the same thing only not quite as loud.
When the brace gave way it hit my daughter in the face and nearly broke her nose.
Returned the car to the dealer shortly after purchase. They acknowledge the problem but had no solution. They contacted VW tech support who said there were no adjustments and told them that's the way it is! I tried emailing VW with no response. I believe that this is a safety issue because you are lured into relying on a image that is too dark to see an obstruction or worse, a person! I can't believe that VW is not concerned.
I purchased my 2015 VW Beetle in June of 2015. The first MPG check was terrible at 16 MPG but I decided to go through another tank of gas and check again. The exact same result 16 MPG. The sticker on the car proclaims 33 Highway MPG, 25 City MPG with a combined average of 28 MPG. I called and went to the dealership after the second tank. I was told that it was my driving that caused the poor gas mileage, that there was no fix and they would get me into a Honda Civic and THAT car would get great gas mileage. I didn't want a Honda, if I had wanted a Honda that is what I would have purchased in the first place. The Dealership claims there is no fix for this problem and I will have to live with it. I am beyond upset!!!!Update from Oct 15, 2015: Second visit I was told that I would have to drive between 5000 and 10000 Miles before I could get the advertised gas mileage. I would have made a difference in my decision to purchase this car if I had been told this BEFORE I purchased the car.
Daughter was driving car fortunately only going 10 miles an hour. Back tire collapsed under car. Could have been fatal if she had made it to freeway. Now Volks Wagon Dealership doesn't want to honor warranty.
click to see larger images Vehicle bought in late 2015. Only 9000 km. Urban driving only. Well taken care of and maintained at local VW dealership. Was home on Monday, removed snow from the windshield in the morning, was A1. Drove only to get my kid at the local school and back. No impact on windshield, no pothole, no weird sound, nothing. Only Canadian weather. While parked at home, noticed a vertical crack, starting in the exact bottom center of the windshield. Surface is absolutely smooth. 2009, 2012 Beetle had cases of spontaneous cracking in the windshield (poor manufacturing? Problem during assembly?) Of course the local dealership refuses to replace the clearly defective windshield at VW expense. They will loose a vw customer and maintenance will be made in an independent garage. Will go back to Japanese cars.
front bumper aligned one side not the other - annoying and noticeable to me and I am no expert - local dealaer said it was in normal limits but dealer I bought from say they have fixed it...
