There has been an ongoing issue nationwide with the kia Sorentoโs engines. I have been dealing with a burning oil issue and engine issue for months. I spent over 800. 00 a few months ago on the oil issue that is still no better today. The engine, kia is fully aware that there is an issue with the engine however will not state is is a recall as then they will be accountable to replace it. I have been told this by both my local dealership and the warranty company. Two weeks ago my Sorento broke down out of state. It had to be towed back to MA. I was told by the dealership that there are about 12 cars with the same issue in front of mine. It will be several weeks before I can expect any type of resolution. I am without a car and kia will not pay for a rental until the adjuster comes out. This is very disheartening as I am a single mother on a very fixed income. I cannot afford to rent a car and I absolutely need transportation ASAP. They say it is an issue with the piston in the engine. I really need my car prioritized or need a rental paid for by kia. I should also be reimbursed for the issue of which I was charged $800+. I was just told Saturday the 6th of August they would look at my car today the 11th, by the manager, it still has not been looked at, we were also told that if we were to pursue legal action they would not work on it at all. I even purchased the warranty and still nothing. Kia of burlington MA pleas help!.
The engine failed in the middle of the freeway all of a sudden with fumes coming out of the bonnet.
Driving on the highway my 2016 kia Sorento suddenly lost acceleration. The check engine light began flashing. I had to pull off to the shoulder and have the vehicle towed. Diagnostic shows code p1326. This code is related to the knock sensor.
When I turn a corner, my kia sputter to get around the corner. This problem has almost caused me to be in a couple of accidents. I advised the dealer before about this problem and was told, "my car is ok". This is not ok. Also, when accelerating, it sounds like the transmission or some other component is slipping. It rpms goes high before decreasing back down to get into next gear. I've expressed this to the dealership as well and was told once they drove my car, "they didn't notice any change". When going up a hill, I have to press all the way down on the gas to get up the hill which causes the rpm to raise and it sounds like it's stuck in a gear or something. These issues needs to be rectified immediately. This is not normal for a car to do this. It frustrates me to tell the dealership what's going on with my car and nothing is being done. I am the one who drives my car everyday and I know when something isn't right. How can a dealership tell you what your saying isn't correct when they don't drive your car everyday? for me to have purchased this car 1 year and 4 months ago with only 2,500 miles on a 2015 kia, I really shouldn't be having these many problems. It almost make me feel like the odometer was rolled back. Just my opinion.
There is an apparent issue with the steering column causing the airbag to not function. It is also causing all of the control switches on the steering wheel to not function properly, including the cruise control. It came on when set but then wouldn't go off using the cancel button. This is a huge safety concern. The estimated cost for repair is $1700.
2013 kia sorrento engine making noise like sewing machine. Brought to kia dealer. After 3 hours was told nothing wrong with engine. Try high test gas. Brought car home and the engine blew. We told dealer about the recall again there is nothing wrong with your vehicle. It has a good strong engine. I have contacted the dealership and kia manufacturer. Waiting for callbacks. This happened today 6/5/20.
When I put my car into reverse it makes this baring grind noise even when I am going into reverse. It continues to make this noise as I am driving. Also sometimes it will stop but then start again when I make a turn and continue making the grind or baring noise. Also if I am at a stop light and I press the gas paddle it makes this grind noise. When I looked up recall for this I had found exactly what it could be and my VIN number said it wasnt for recall. Also. I noticed when I would put my park in the park gear position it wont sometimes lock all the way. As I had read also for my car. It depends on the weather how loud it makes the noise . When it's hot its loud then cold its off and on. This happens on streets and highways. My date of happening is an educational guess. I know it was already happening when I got a recall for the oil panel thing and something else.
The car was running hot and I took it in and the mechanic said liquid was coming out of the head gasket. Kia gave me a quote to replace the engine. We were fearful the car would just shut off while driving with our infant son and hot engine air blowing through the vents. The vehicle was inspected by greenway kia in franklin, tennessee. The check engine light came on and I took it to the kia dealer.
A little after 100,000 miles, the low beam lights continuously went out. There was no rhyme or reason. I simply bought more lights and replaced them until one day I found the driver side connector had melted. I was able to buy a new harness and have it wired in. Then, about a year later, the passenger side connector looks like it is starting to come apart, with the low beam light failing about 50% of the time now - so I assume that this one is also on the way to melting as it is following the same manners as the driver side had prior to melting.
