I have 2020 Hyundai Tucson with about 6300 miles on it. When I am sitting at a complete stop, in drive, the car will lurch. It feels like someone is behind me tapping on the bumper. I took it in and the tech could not duplicate the issue as always. Well, it happened again the next day so I took it back and had the tech ride with me. It happened while he was with me. He said he had no clue what it could be. He took the vehicle back and reset the engine and transmission adaptive learning features. It hasn't happened again at the time of this writing, but I am not confident that it is fixed.
Due to COVID-19 I have not had the chance to drive my Tucson as often as I normally would, but I bought the car new on 2/24/2020 and ever since then I have noticed the idle noise is extremely loud (it doesn't sound within 'normal' range for a 4-cyl) and rough. This tends to dissipate upon acceleration but returns for the duration of the ride. Is anyone else experiencing this?I hope that this problem is not connected to the countless transmission problems the 2016-2018 Tucson's are notorious for. My mother-in-law has a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe and at idle the noise is loud and it idles high/rough. Perhaps it's just a Hyundai quirk? I have had Honda Civic's in the past and they never sounded like this.
This is the third time it is in for the same cracking/popping noise coming from the panoramic sun roof... time to get these windows recalled on ALL Hyundai cars and SUV's before a serious accident occurs.
I was driving down the highway and the car lost power. It wouldn't drive more than 35 mph. I kept trying to hit the gas pedal but nothingI I pulled off to the shoulder for a minute. When I continued it accelerated normally for a couple seconds then back to 35. I got home, parked it and my husband drove it the next day and it did the same thing. He parked it and I took it to the dealership on Monday and it wasn't showing any codes so they said I needed to bring it in while it was doing it. It's done it again and almost caused an accident but it was after hours (of course) and wasn't doing it the next day. Don't know what to do. On the Hyundai website I contacted them and never heard anything back from them.
Car died on side of the road with only 1000 miles on it. Towed to dealership and told it was an oil leak. Repaired the leaking seal and to!d it was all fixed. A week later, checked oil, and it barely read on the dipstick. Brought it back, and told it needs a brand new engine. Called Hyundai, and 21 days later I still have not heard from a case manager. I do not want this car back! Hyundai is just buying time until engine comes in and I get stuck with this POS!Update from Sep 21, 2021: On 9/20/21 I got a call that car was ready. Apparently I have no choice but to pick it up considering Hyundai case manager would not return my calls. I will never buy a Hyundai again... We will see how long before it is back at the shop.

Purchased new 2022 SUV TUCSON on May 22, 2021. 6/7/21 Vehicle was cut off while driving on busy 2 lane road. Coasted to side of road with horns blowing at me. Vehicle restarted but would not move when Drive or Reverse engaged. Hyundai Assistance notified vehicle towed to closet Dealership. 6/8/21 Informed by Asst. Service Manager that there was no one trained to work on the newly released 2022 TUCSONs. Employees should be trained to work on all vehicles before they are released onto the market for purchase. General Manager of Dealership and Cooperate Office contacted for assistance (I would like a vehicle buy back or repurchase vehicle). 6/15/21 Finally Service Dept. working on vehicle, during which they have given me several reasons as to what was wrong with my SUV. I don't think they know. 6/16/21 The last information received informed me that the transmission fluid leaked out the vehicle damaging the transmission which now needs to be replaced. (I haven't seen any current fluid leaks on my garage floor). I was informed the transmission has to be ordered before it can be replaced. 6/21/21 Vehicle still not ready. We are afraid of the vehicle - you don't expect to have dangerous safety issues with a new vehicle that has 370 miles on odometer. 6/28/21 Working with Consumer Affairs about wanting a buy back on the vehicle. I am not impressed with the new 22 TUCONS I hope they do a recall on this dangerous vehicle. If anyone else has an issue with the TUCSON please add a complaint - the more complaints the sooner the recall. SAFETY ALWAYS before financial gain.
click to see larger images Car has been fine otherwise, however, there seems to be an issue with Hyundai glass used for their windshields. Through forums, I've read of issues with previous years (a different model) and a lawsuit. It seems that maybe they are using thinner glass for weight or possibly it has something to do with the sensors for Lane Keep Assist, Smart Cruise etc. - but the glass seems to be highly susceptible to stress cracks. I have submitted a complaint, in writing, to Hyundai but do not expect to get a resolution as it is seemingly impossible to prove there was no impact causing the crack. I have also submitted a complaint to the NTHSA in hopes that others will also attempt to hold Hyundai responsible.
Like previous year owners' complaint, the CAS (Collision Avoidance System) avoids warning me. I keep my eye on the road, but the CAS will fire only 1 out of dozen likely scenario. I have it on "early" like most others who complained.Few times, I had to hit the brake hard enough to cause chest pain. It just does NOT work well enough to be trustworthy.
I put my foot down and nothing. Car did not move one inch. Decided to then lay the petal to the floor and after a second it began to creep along. Major intersection and almost had an accident.
