I bought this car on 8/5/2020. When I wasn't even off of the dealer's lot, I had issues with the entertainment system and radio. Crackling noises come from the entertainment system, the DVD player does not work all the time, and the radio stopped working. I paid an extra 4-5k just to have the entertainment system so I'm totally unhappy that the dealer sold me a car that has a junk entertainment system. The dealership is working on servicing the vehicle right now, but I am extremely pissed off to have paid extra for an entertainment system that is trash!
The speedometer/instrument panel freezes and goes blank. This has happened multiple times. The first time was when accelerating to get onto the interstate. The speedometer / instrument pane first froze, and then went blank. It came back after a short while. This was reported to the Honda dealer along with the infortainment issues that are well documented. Honda fixed the infotainment connectors and put slack in the wiring harness to address the infortainment issues, but the speedometer/instrument panel going blank has occurred again after that work. The dealer says they need to bring a Honda technician in to look at the problem. I am concerned that these electrical problems are not going to be fixed and I am going to be stuck with an unreliable vehicle. Honda knew that there were infortainment issues and electrical issues with the 2020 Odyssey but they sold it to me anyways. I had a 2007 Honda Odyssey that was issue free, so I bought the 2020 with full faith that I was buying a proven product; I was very wrong.
I got this new last August 2020, but the Rear Entertainment started freezing right off the bat. Took it back in a few weeks as I came to know they had 5 recalls on this car already. They said, some software update happened and it should fix things, but it did not. Then during my first oil change/maintenance, mentioned this problem along with bluetooth and host of other infotainment issues. Long story short... after few months, I left the car for 3 days to get these fixed, but due to Honda engineers being busy all 3 days my car was returned un-touched. But it's been downhill since then, lots of electronics are not working, crackling noise from speakers, sliding doors wont stop closing when there is an obstruction, bluetooth fails after 1-2 minutes, screen freeze, just pathetic. Close to 50K and this is what we get? Looking at other posts, seems like this is a major problem and is apparently a law suit going around?
Our 2020 Honda Odyssey has the loud pops and crackles, loss of connections of Bluetooth calls and just an overall bad experience with it. I initially had the service department at Curry Honda look at it when I took it in for an oil change. They claimed that the software update would fix that. It did not. I got the same response the next time I asked them about it. Then I got the notice in the mail about the Warranty Extension of the MOST bus Network. (Service Bulletin #21-013). So when I took it to Gwinnett place Honda for the next oil change, I asked about the recall and they said they know about it and it's not really a recall, just a notice. Also, there is nothing that they can do right now because they don't have the parts. (I did see on YouTube that Honda's have had this trouble for a while now and it appears to be the clip connectors. Is it really that hard to make a quality connector?) Hope others out there are not having the same problem.
Really Honda? First time off the lot (New Years Eve) with not even 125 miles driven, and the infotainment system fails. Phone calls are broken up, then dropped, Satellite Radio goes in and out, Information Home screen goes blank and then reappears and fades out again. This is a 46k automobile, not a low end throw away commuter. Our 2011 Odyssey Touring seldom saw the service department for any reason other than routine maintenance, I hope this is a quick and easy fix or I will be raising some major holy hell with these people. Keep in mind I am writing this about an hour after dropping the car off for 'repair', and if the condition persists, I will be back!
The screen randomly turned off, rendering the backup camera useless. It made terrible popping and static noises. Took the dealership 3 days to get them to repair it.
Purchased this brand new vehicle, brought it home, parked it in the garage. Noticed there are two disconnected wire harnesses hanging lose under the glove box compartment. Not sure what these wire/connectors are for but they seem as if they need to be plugged in to something.Going to have to get this looked at by the dealer.
I had one key fob in my pocket and the other key fob was safe, with another adult in the house. I began washing the van and the doors began locking and unlocking every time I would rinse the vehicle. I verified that the other person with the key fob was not pressing any buttons. I haven't taken it to the dealer yet to get this taken care of. Seems like I'm there biweekly at this point, so I'm waiting for the next issue so I can take care of multiple things per visit. On the bright side, they wash my van every time I bring it in to be repaired, so I have only had to wash it once myself since April when I bought it. SMH.
Car will automatically go to park when trying to put in drive. Dealer fixed it once already and said it was a sensor. Now its happening again and they cannot find the reason why its happening. This is very dangerous and can get someone killed especially of this happens in a highway or a busy street.
We leased a 2019 Honda Odyssey EX-L with rear entertainment and navigation. Shortly after taking possession of the vehicle, we started to hear a popping noise coming from dashboard. Then the radio, including instrument panel and dvd player started to black out and reset while driving. It has now been in the shop 3 times and hasn't been fixed properly. The dealership is working with Honda manufacturing to resolve but they don't seem to know how to fix it. We have the car back from the dealership but it is now making the static noise again. We are trying to get the car replaced with another vehicle but due to negative equity the dealership is looking to Honda to offset the cost and make us whole. If that doesn't happen, we will force the KY lemon law and start the arbitration process. It has been a very frustrating experience and will give us some major hesitation to ever buy or lease a Honda again.
